Wow... I drove a BEAST today!

The CTS-V is definitely an awesome car. The wagon has a sub 6 second 0-60... Incredible for a wagon. Definitely not a wagon for the wife, unless you're married to

The CTS-V is nice, and wicked fast. Chevy saw people were pumping money out for AMG Benzos and made the right decision by putting out the CTS-V. Of course Lingenfelter was putting Supercharged v8s in CTS for a while now.
Only you would pay $20-30K over MSRP.

I thought the V's were more expensive than that. Thats what GM has to do to compete with the imports.

Uhh, the CTS-V is $62K and comes fully loaded from the factory. A fully loaded 370Z runs $46K - the difference in price is not as vast as you're suggesting. It's apples-to-apples it $16K, not $60K.

CTS-V Coupe, Wagon, and Sedan all weigh nearly the same amount (difference varies by around 100lbs between all 3). They all hit 60 in the 4s, and run nearly identical 1/4s.

I apologize for my ignorance. Price points aside I do not believe the CTS-V should be compared to a Z. If that was the case then you should also compare the ZR1 to a Z. And the AMG C63 and the BMW M5.

Import Convert in 3,2,1........

What? Dude, what the hell are you talking about? The ZR1 is $100K. How can you even get anywhere near to comparing that price to a Z? Just stop. And the price difference between a C63 and an M5 is $30K, that's literally a whole car value difference.

I don't think you can compare the two. First of all, price aside, they're trying to accomplish two different things: Z is a pure sports car with a sporty feel, and the CTS-V is a muscle car packed into a luxury sedan, or a 4 seater coupe. Also, the 15k difference is pretty significant if you ask me....that puts them in different categories.

A 370Z Touring w/ Sport and Navi is 43K. A CTS-V Coupe is 63K. B

My 370Z with the Black Cherry and Nismo Pads was 45K. If you get the illuminated sills and some of the other small crap, it neared $46K. Regardless, the point was that the price difference between the two was that it was nowhere near the $60K difference he made it to be.

Yes, they are still quite different in price and will likely never be cross shopped because you can get thousands off the MSRP of the 370Z until you reach invoice - meanwhile, there is no such room with the CTS-V. So realistically, the price difference is around $20K.

While I love the CTS-V Wagon, the interior isn't really that good for a luxury car.

Except wait.

Have you ever sat in a CTS-V?

I have. Sat in a few 370Z Tourings, too. Seats in the CTS-V are worlds better, and the interior is made of higher grade material. Hmmm...

After sitting inside your Vette I bet any interior is nice

I'm glad someone said it.

Most critics have agreed with this sentiment, as well. The CTS in general uses very cheap plastics all around the center console and dash that begin to rattle. I've sat in the CTS-V Coupe and Sedan, and I was turned off by the cheapness of center console. It's a great looking interior, but a lot of people complain it creaks like hell.

ugh, oh brother, thats what I'm saying, none of those cars should be compared to the Z, jeez. Therefore my response is to someone who was comparing the seats of a CTS-V to a Z.

Actually, you can compare whatever you want. Frigging compare monkeys to chez-whiz for all i care. I'm just saying the CTS-V is in another class from the Z.

you can pick up a CTS-V for about the same as a Z06, man, i'd be all over that !!

Yeah, the interior looks classy, but it doesn't feel classy. There is a lot of hard plastic everywhere. Likewise, outside of the V engine, the other options really aren't stellar.

In my honest opinion, the new Hyundai Sonata has a better interior -- and I think that really says all you need to know.

With that said, I'd love a CTS-V wagon.
