Front looks wierd from certain angles. I hope they do a better job with the coupe

Like it better than the IS, but not better than current G front end... it's okay.
Also waiting to see the coupe -- also trying to imagine what the next Z will look like if it borrows some styling cues.

So the VQ37 is a carryover.
VQ35 Hybdrid is optional with 354HP/465TQ, 7AT Additional engines will debut at the end of the year. Infinit filed a patent last year for G30T. So 3.0L Turbo is still hoped to be in the decks |

The carryover powertrain is really a let down. One thing worth noting though is that it has direct-injection? Seems odd that it doesn't have a power bump if they did add it.
I still don't get why change the Infiniti nomenclature. I get the fact that the number allocation could get confusing, but this isn't the right approach. A G20 Turbo or G30 Turbo sounds a lot better than Q50. I dunno, it sounds more....feminine. I think they should have kept the SUV's with a JX or FX designation, followed by a number...sounds a lot cooler. It kind of makes you wonder what plans Nissan has for the next Z. I hope to god they just call it a "Z" and leave it at that...much like taking the "skyline" out from the GT-R.

This new G is doing nothing in terms of making me feel confident of the Z's future. That said, knowing the z is going for G independence... Will it be the better sports car or will it go from Cayman Fighter to BRZ fighter??? EDIT: I just did the interactive tour of the Q50. Not bad. It looks better in film than in pics. This car DOES NOT have a clutch clutch transmission. You are misinterpreting and falling for Infiniti's misleading marketing BS. Dual Clutch control refers to the operation of the electric motor and standard motor driving the car individually or harmoniously.
Also, this VQ37 DOES NOT have direct injection. No idea where you guys are reading this misinformation. Yeah I didn't think the direct injection sounded right either, but that's what it said in that article linked in my previous post. I doesn't make sense that they wouldn't make more of a hub bub if they did go DI.

If it did have direct torque would not have been the same. And there would have most likely been a power bump. They probably did not feel the need as the drivetrain was more than competitive with other offerings. Makes me question why they even added an exhaust clip.
