Hey frost, i didn't know you rode. Yeah that is way too much for a starter bike but damn she is pretty. I always loved the sound of the RC-51!
Didn't do any mods huh? Well I see, Sato Racing exhaust, SS braided brake lines in red, gold rear sets which appear to also be Sato Racing if i'm not mistaken. Did the RC come the the Ohlins forks and shocks too? Nice looking bike. I heard rumor that they may be releasing another V-Twin Liter+ (1200cc RC-61). I'd be all over that like a fat kid on cake! I did hear this rumor a while ago though. I'll need someone to keep the Kawi company while I'm off in my soon to be purchased Z!!! ![]() Last edited by Togo; 08-07-2009 at 08:18 PM. |

I wouldn't say I really ride. I refuse to commute to work on a bike because of the danger factor, so I really bought it for the weekends. But my weekends get taken up with school, so I don't get much saddle time. I didn't hear about the RC-61, sounds like a beast. But everyone else is upping their game, so I guess they had to as well. I don't know if it's the V-twin, but I never got good mileage on the bike. Maybe ... 27 mpg or so. |

Ahh I got ya on the picture Frost. Last I heard on the RC-61 was nearly a year ago but it was a consideration for competition when the 1098R (1198cc) was released. I've yet to see one, and now that I think about it, this might be a rumor that is about 1.5 or 2 years old so maybe it isn't a rumor anymore, it's just a fail...
Either way, if we ever see one released, I'll be picking one up, as well as a Sato Racing exhaust. I had their Ti Slip-on on my 636 before I switched to the Ti full system from Nassert Beet. The Sato was actually louder but the Beet Racing system makes loads of power ![]() Yeah 27 MPG on that thing sounds about right. In all honesty I was getting like 35-37 MPG on my 636 when I bought it but now get roughly 30-32. My drop is mostly due to performance modifications including a custom tune. The nearly 30k miles probably has something to do with it too. |

I saw one of those the today and it looked pretty cool, sounded pretty cool too. I've seen them a bunch when I was at college in FL too. It would be great for commuting. I've seen em with saddle bags, good for holding paperwork/briefcase.

If you want one, get one. Real bikers think??? It's not like its a made up rig out of someones garage. Have you ridden a 4 wheeler before? Its kinda is like that for a small compaison. A little awkward at first coming from riding a 2 wheel but you get use to it. Nifty ride, has reverse no front brake lever rides comfy and you can do smoky burn outs all day long with no effort. It's cool but kinda on the pricey side. I'm wonder when they are going to fully enclose it some way like a T-rex but upright and tron looking with 3 wheels.

I haven't mountain biked a lot myself, but I got to go once or twice when I was at boarding school. It was a pretty good time and certainly one hell of a work out. I've always been on 2 wheels though, had my training wheels off at 2! I should find some pics, I had a sweet Red Line!!!!
