Default I test drove a CTSV

Wow, that's addicting power. After that the Nismo felt pretty slow. It was an 09 with only 22 k miles, recaro seats and open sky sun roof. They offered me 29k for my Nismo. I may just go buy the monster. I played with the magnetic ride and the traction control. They are independent, You can set sport suspension with regular or minimal TC or turn it off. Handling it's pretty good given the weight and size. Has nav, XM, Bluetooth, heated seats...
Best part? With simple mods you can make really obscene power. Intake, pulley, belt, idler, and tune for 1k or so adds 100 HP and lots of torque.

It's always a special sighting when a CTS-V passes by. Kind of like Corvette drivers, they're usually going along pretty slow.

So, is the engine the dominating part of the driving experience ? ? ?

Recently riding in an ATS 4 3.6, the handling stood out to me .

Yes, that supercharged 6.2 liter just pulled and pulled. I did not have a chance to drive on any real twisty roads, but what I did drive on the handling was good, given the size and weight of the car. It was very comparable to driving a German performance sedan. No rattles or wind noise, very planted and stable, no nervous feeling in the back and no wheel hop. All those things happened in the previous generation. That one felt like a big engine was stuffed in the car as an afterthought. This latest version felt like it was designed from the start to have the big powerful engine and its all integrated together. Only issue on this one is the basic warranty is over and its not certified. Checking the V sites, I have not found any big issues or items going bad on them though. So looks like minimal warranty repairs so far.

I would love to have a CTS-V Wagon as a daily. Maybe for the Wife lol. I told her she can have one if she gets it in manual and Recaro's. She agreed... My bank account doesn't

I just brought it home this evening. It's a monster but very smooth and quiet. Dynamatt not needed. I'll post pics later. I paid 44k for it and bought a warranty from GM. I got 29k on the Nismo for trade. So I'm happy.

Congrats. I am selling Z for a CTS V sedan.

Interested to see how my TT Z compares to the V as a daily.

You will like the V more than TT Z. Despite its weight, Cadillac did a darn good job on its suspension. I've driven one with a CTS-V group at Willow Springs and its cornering is no joke. Even put doubts when I had my 370z.

I wanna see it! I wanna see it! Congrats! I love that car...shockingly with its sharp edges! I saw a balck one driving past me on 75N headed into Atlanta. All that stood out to me were these huge calipers that were gold or something and the insane exhaust pipe housing. All I could do was drool and putter on in mym lil Z.

Mine is black with black interior. I just finished the home link transmitter pairing and the bluetooth pairing. I'm reading through the manual now, it's got all kinds of things to set. The seat, steering column, and other presets. They come with silver brake calipers but if you got updated brakes the calipers are red or yellow. I have tons to learn about it. It's actually very docile till you wake it up, so driving home in DC was no problem. The clutch has a much better feel than the Z did. I'll upload the crappy cell pic in a bit. Here are two pics....

Good Luck with it, most of the new corvette owners and caddy based vettes tend to trade them at about 20-30K, because that is when the problems start to appear on them. If you have time to buy an extra bumper to bumper waranty then you should take, you will probably need it.

If I were you and wanted a bigger car, I would have went with a loaded maxima or a loaded altima.
