Just for ***** and giggles the salary range is $50K- $120k with OT, 20yr. retirement 50% highest last yrs average pay and 30yr. 75-80 % last yrs average pay and fully paid health care, far better than the common man.

While people may have personal experiences, on a whole, they do a hard job for not a ton of money.

But Frost, even you yourself claims to be a "bad cop" :icon17:

Since you found it fair to censor any reference to police salary, then its only fair to for you to also censor any reference beyond the original intent of the OP, which is police vehicles vs. the 370Z

To place any individual at higher level than the average man, due to occupation is openly wrong. There are a lot of more hazardous jobs than police or firemen, Any of us could drop dead any day at work, its life. If you did a search at how many ppl die a day at work from simple accidental work place accidents in general each day, I'm sure it would be higher than the single group of police deaths for that given day.

So lets be fair to all specially when censorship is being applied.

Here are the facts in the year 2000, 5915 on the job deaths, of which are 142 police and 43
firemen.

There are several off topic chat threads you two can discuss law enforcement salaries until you're blue in the face. What you see as "censorship" is just keeping the thread on topic about the police cruiser. The next person to troll post is going to earn some time off the forum.

:wtf2: damm this thread went completely the opposite of where I thought it was gonna go since I last checked in.

Look, I said what I said based on something that happened when I was prompted to pull over. Being that I was (and am now) coming under a suspended license and other charges that were racked up on my record, I had no choice but to run or get my Z towed and be put behind bars. Yes, it wasn't the smartest decsion, and by no means do I advocate or propose running from a cop. What I did do though was under full knowledge to myself of what I was doing and I was not under the influence, and luckily, just luckily got away. Running away isnt that easy nor "cool" as chalked up to be in movies and in chitter chat.

So yeah, thats it, if that initial post offended anyone....well sorry you got offended. Plus I think cops are cool, they are afterall doing their job if it werent for them, there would be no "bad" guy to blame. :icon17::tup::driving:

Happy driving everyone.

Hello, Mr. Frost!!! Thanks for your excellent moderation in this thread.

I've evaded many police pursuits in my lifetime, even those with a 6 star wanted level :icon17:

Doubt it, it's just damn good advise. A ticket is pretty cheap and driving school, if you even have to do that to keep it off the record, is $50 or so.

I shot a 3-day carbine course with some SWAT and Narcotics officers as well as other LE/Gov types this weekend, and not all cops are "uncool" and "us vs. them".

That being said, regardless of the officer, that radio is going to own anything on 2 or four wheels, their vehicles are basically mobile desks/equipment lockers, not "pursuit vehicles".

The reason they have cars like the Charger, etc. is so that they can gun it onto a busy freeway to catch vehicles of interest without having to wait for a gap in traffic a mile long or putting you and I at more risk than necessary to merge off of the shoulder, not so they can play Fast and Furious with sports cars.
