2014 GTR Info: 545hp 0-60 2.6 secs 7:18.6 Ring Time
Nissan Japan has announced its changes to the 2014 (2013 JDM). The 2014 GTR is said to be the start of the 3rd generation GTR and while the exterior has not changed (the facelift looks to take place for next year's 2015 model) the GTR has evolved in 3 major ways. Firstly, in the suspension department the cars "roll center" has been lowered to give the 2014 GTR a more planted feel with less unnecessary movement while high speed driving. More body reinforcements have been added for 2014 aswell as new cam bolts to provide a better alignment to the front end. Next , while the peak power of 550PS and peak torque remains the same, internal changes such as new injectors have been made to allow mid range response and more torque between 4K-6K RPMs. This along with less drop off of turbo pressure is a factor in improved acceleration resulting in a one tenth improvement in 0-62 time of 2.7 (which should translate to an astonishing 2.6 sec 0-60 sprint.) Interior was the next thing that was improved. the JDM premium model GTR gets an optional fashionable "Amber Red" Interior that includes two-tone accents aswell as high grade hand sewn stitching . Other improvements include a craftsmanship badge added to the front of the engine and the option of NISMO Competition engine oil 2193E to coincide with last years switch to NISMO differential oil.
USDM specific changes will be announced in soon JDM Press Release and Photos http://www.nissan-newsroom.com/COMMO...-121102-02.jpg http://www.nissan-newsroom.com/COMMO...-121102-10.jpg http://www.nissan-newsroom.com/COMMO...-121102-11.jpg http://www.nissan-newsroom.com/COMMO...-121102-15.jpg |
Nissan Japan has released a video that chronicles the evolution of the GTR to the 2014 model year. It is revealed that during their trip to the Nurburgring in May they achieved a 7:19.1 ( mathematically corrected to 7:18.6 to compensate for deceleration due to traffic) Nurburgring time.

Very impressive car! I am beginning to think, though, that at that "level", people buy with their hearts and not their 0-60 obsession, though. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt a GT-R customer would become a Viper customer if the Viper somehow were to manage a faster 0-60 time. Visa versa, as well.

A 2014 GTR already?? Damn Im still waiting for my Z to evolve into a GTR
I guess Darwin's Theory of evolution doesn't work with mine. I bet those GTR engineers are the same group who built Voltes V. They're just damn good and obsessed!! |
I love the GTR! Nice vid.
|
Damn.
|
and bigger changes are due next year for the 2015 ( the one im holding out for) including a makeover to the exterior that will take it through the end of its model cycle around 2018
|
I was expecting more HP, was rumored to be 600BHP and a 0-60 of 2.5 matching the Veyron. But nonetheless the GTR keeps getting better, setting the bar very high making the competition continue to play catch up.

the 600HP might come at the very end of the life cycle or even in the NISMO RS version. I expect next years refresh to have maybe 565-575 |
Wow

Thank God they finally made this slow car fast.

Just saw a 2013 Black GT-R at the dealer yesterday while getting my oil changed. I love these cars! Can't wait to see what they do for 2015.

This car has really helped improve Nissan's credibility as a performance brand over the past few years.

so you are saying you would "never buy a automatic sports car"? soooooooo you would never buy a lambo aventador, Ferrari 458 italia, Bugatti veyron, etc... if you had the money? because all those top notch cars are paddle shifted cars without a clutch pedal. just sayin.... |
Those are chump cars. If someone gave me one. I would laugh in their face and say.
"Only bitches drive automatics, bitch" My Manual Prius could take you! You never had a car |
