Nissan releasing the 2013 Nissan Juke-R

6MT 10-16-2012 09:05 AM

It's still a fugly car.

Mitco39 10-16-2012 09:43 AM

I like the rear of the car, just cant get over the front of it. haha

lemon-fresh 10-16-2012 10:24 AM

ugh...

Cmike2780 10-16-2012 10:36 AM

I don't care what it looks like, I want one anyways. What I really want to see is the drivetrain in an ultra-light chassis.

shadoquad 10-16-2012 11:36 AM

They're so cramped inside. I almost feel like the Z is roomier.

jcosta79 10-16-2012 11:39 AM

This can't be for real.

I know they made a couple cars for fun, but I don't believe they are actually going into production.

They ended up getting enough people to commit so they agreed to do a select run, I think it is 10-15 cars total at $500,000-$600,000 per car.

I'm going to need a real source to believe that. I could see a tuner company doing something like that, but not Nissan. Not for 10-15 cars.

Built by British motorsports outfit RML with advice from Nissan Technical Center Europe (NTC-E), the Juke-R uses the GT-R's sophisticated all-wheel drive system and suspension along with an FIA-specification roll-cage. Peak output is rated at 545 horsepower, which is enough to send the vehicle from 0-60 mph in just 3.0 seconds and see it reach a top speed of 170 mph.

Yeah, but something really substantial. I mean, can't you have their head of research sign up for an account here, provide id to us all, and then verify?

That's crazy. Why do that and not a Z with a GTR engine? That makes much more sense and they would sell a lot more of them.

I less-than-three you, good sir. So much less than three.

The Juke R will be a collector car. You'll see it exchanged in Monterey in about 30 years.

Because the first Juke-R was done without any knowledge from Nissan Japan, even the creator of the R35/GT-R has stated he hates the Juke-R and wishes Nissan would have stopped it.
This was done by Nissan Europe & a third party because they could.

Compdoc777 10-16-2012 11:56 AM

I want to replace the u in the name with an o. I am going to do that to a few at the dealer if I can find some o's.

Soooooo can someone please do a Nismo Z with a GTR engine and not tell Nissan so that way Nissan can build it?

Keep it with a true manual please.

6MT 10-16-2012 12:11 PM

Shud'a named it the Joke!

Lug 10-16-2012 01:26 PM

GT-R's are just sooooo common! One sees them on the street all the time. Every trailer-trash common hillbiilly millionaire has one. I want something with some exclusivity! Enter....Juke-R.

Let me know if this argument starts to sound familiar. :D

Cmike2780 10-16-2012 01:38 PM

How can you call yourself a car guy and not like something this crazy. Nothing about this car makes sense, which is why it's awesome. It's too expensive...has no practical application...not as fast as a GT-R...looks wierd...and people will think you're crazy for buying one. This is one of those things that doesn't need explaining.

I agree... although if I had $600K to spend on a car, a Juke would not be on my list.

Lug 10-16-2012 01:58 PM

It needs to be raised and knobby off-road tires added! - Maybe a machine gun mount on top as well.

lemon-fresh 10-16-2012 02:01 PM

The only reason I like it is because it's fast. Everything else about it seems rather pointless. A fast juke is still a juke. I'd have to be a multi billionaire to even consider it, my wife could drive the kids to soccer practice in it.

Brutal waste of time.

If you can "afford" to spend $600k on something like this, chances are, you already have a garage full of exotic rides at your disposal. This is basically a car for the guy that can afford to buy a Veyron with the change in his pocket, not for us mere mortals.

ZCarMan 10-16-2012 06:45 PM

I like it.

Yeah, I still wouldn't want one.

"Here's my tour of the garage...

...Here's my Veyron Super Sport, over there is my Enzo, F50, and F40, in that corner is my McLaren F1, Porsche 911 GT1, 959, and Ruf RT-12, and finally my Maserati MC-12."

What's that little SUV over there?

"Oh that's a $600,000 Nissan Juke. The pool boy drives that."

:icon18: forgot to add the "Ariel Atom" to that collection. for the car it is, its faster than anything on the road, 0-62 mph. lol

LakeShow 10-19-2012 02:44 PM

Would've love to have seen a "370Z-R". Would've been epic. AWD, drop the 09-11 GTR engine 3.8 V6TT 485HP (so it doesn't compete with 2013 GTR 545HP), Dual clutch or manual tranny, market it at 60-65k, and call it the the M3, C63, Audi RS5, Porsche Carrera S killer.
