older civic, accord, camry. something along those lines would probably work if you can find one in decent shape.

I bought a 98 Toyota Avalon for $1400 back in July and still running good. Look for Toyota or Honda!

S10 Blazer, end of discussion. 4.3 gets 21 mpg, 4X4 for snow, roomy as ****. Traded an old motorcycle for one and never looked back.

Wait a minute! You live in Vancouver?! Just what do you need a "winter" beater for. Vancouver is Miami-north!

Default Good Post

I live in Western Missouri. Our winters are usually pretty wimpy but once a while we have a good one. I've been thinking the same myself. For a while I thought I'd find a "cheap" Toyota Tacoma 4x4. Ha! What was I thinking???

For under $1500, it doesn't really matter as long as it still runs and most of the stuff still works. An older Japanese car would be my choice since they're usually pretty cheap to fix and keep running. You're probably looking at 15-25 year old car with a ton of mileage for $1,500.

Civics and Accords are overpriced as used cars. However the Prelude is nicer and can often be found for cheaper.

I thought the same. Then dropped $4k more than what I wanted to spend on one lol. But, it was $6k under blue book so I couldn't pass it up
