You shoulda listened to us when we told you import. You had plenty of research for 2 years on that. You bought the Z anyway. Don't complain now.

It's a minor quibble. A foot-note, really. Quite pleased with the 370Z. If I could change anything, it would be the suspension and Nissan's silly 53/47 bias. It's horrible for a car this nice, otherwise.

I4, I6, V8 all OK, but never been impressed with a V6.

I'll obviously consider V10...V12...W16...if I have too...

I'm pretty pleased with my VQ37. It's not as smooth as my LS1 or LS7 were, but it is not bad, either. It just has a different temperament. I like it, personally. It feels identical to my LS1 in every way, but it is much more efficient at lower throttle input. Better mileage cruising around the city, and when you sit in traffic idling, it actually runs cooler than if you were cruising at 70. Kinda neat. It's my first car that has ever been like that. I credit the unique valvetrain arrangement for the low rpm/throttle efficiency.

they gave us a 2012 ford explorer to drive.. i told my brother he better get used to it as i bet it will be a while before its fixed

Sounds like some BS. Hands-down, GM has given me the best service of any dealership. Nissan, I rank as "fair to poor". Ford "fair". GM "Outfrickenstanding!"

Quality of vehicles has gone opposite for me. Nissan > Ford > GM.

Anyway, change dealers. Your brother's dealer is full of fail treating you guys that way.

I'd call that an outlier. :)

no, when a mustang runs slow, that is the norm. When a Z runs slow, it is an outlier.

Better be careful. Dissing the "perfectly balanced" Z is dangerous.:ugh2:

The good news is, the Z's balance is perfect for laps around a 200' skidpad at part throttle

The mustang can't beat a Bugatti in a drag race. It is slow.

The Z corners better than a Lincoln Navigator. It is fast.

53/47 is done that way so when you have 2 passengers of similar weight and the car is in motion. It will have 50/50 distribution when necessary. As when the car is under hard acceleration. Weight will transfer to 50/50 which is good coming out of turns.

Why do you find it silly?.

If i'm correct? The average gt mustang will run 4.8/12.8 right? Besters will run 4.4/12.6?

because the nissan story about why the distribution is good is a complete fabrication...it is just an excuse.

yup, why do you want 50/50 weight distribution coming out of the corner? I would rather take a mid engine corner and take advantage of its braking and turn-in too

you want 50/50 on 30% throttle, because that's how they run skidpad tests:icon17:

m4a1mustang 09-05-2012 07:19 PM

50/50 on entry and through the center is where its at. The marketing guys just got a hold of the 53/47 thing and ran with it.

I find it amusing that the V-6 Mustang gets bashed so much, even though it only has 10 less HP and is just as fast as the old V-8, which nobody complained about.

Now the old V-6...that was a joke.
