Pretty lame that a 332bhp motor doesn't do any better in a car of similar weight with lighter tires and driveline components and a lower drag coefficient.

That is one of my few sore points about my 370Z purchase. I expected mpg to be around 30 if I babied it on the freeway and 22-24 mixed.

You shoulda listened to us when we told you import. You had plenty of research for 2 years on that. You bought the Z anyway. Don't complain now.

That does suck considering how light the 370z is and how heavier v8's are getting the same mpg ratings.

If you want gas mileage, neither the 5.0 nor the 370z will do it for you.

Cooling should hopefully be under control. The car has a factory engine oil cooler and the upgraded radiator from the Boss 302 as part of the Track Pack.

Well congrats on your new stang. It seems the stang only gets better. On motorweek, they said, they even got higher quality sheetmetal and paint. They are cooling it the highest quality stang to date. I'm surprised the stang got to 60 in only 5.1 seconds with the automatic considering manual numbers. But the stang is looking better by the year.

I'm excited to see the next gen. I seen a few sketches and im eager to see what comes of it. The main ford sketch is beautiful.

:iagree: FRS in an auto gets about 30mpg combined. the gencoupe 2.0 about 26mpg's... Otherwise, they gonna have to deal with it.

v6 mustang isn't bad either, and frankly still pretty quick. Not sure I'd be ok with driving one though:icon17:

Not trying to insult anyone with a V6 musclecar but... I could never do v6 in a stang, camaro etc. I know these cars by heritage always had the transportation version. But it don't make it right. lol :shakes head:

I doubt I'd get a V6 in anything again.

I4, I6, V8 all OK, but never been impressed with a V6.

I'll obviously consider V10...V12...W16...if I have too...

It was 13.5 with the shiftable automatic blue stang gt with the recaros on motorweek.

m4a1mustang 09-05-2012 02:32 PM

I'd call that an outlier. :)

I mostly agree with you, but i still find the Z v6 to be extremely good in spite of. But I'm hoping nissan decides to go with another engine next-gen. I think this vq has been over-engineered. The VQ35 did feel and sound a little better than this VQ. But this 37 makes more linear power and i can really appreciate that too.

I think the transmission on my brothers 2013 GT went out today. he came over all stressed out today and i drove it to see what i thought.. at about 2K rpm it sounded like you were hitting one of those run off strips on the interstate.. i was thinking to myself what the hell is that? trans. suspension? well we got it over to the dealer who acted like they didnt give a **** on a a brand new 46K car with 3900 miles on it.. anyway a tech finally rode with me and me and him decided it was probably from the tranmission like maybe low line pressure and the clutch not getting oil or something.. because it wouldnt do it under full acceleration. only other thing it "might" be the VDC as sometimes it turns off on its on and maybe the VDC is coming on..but i doubt it.. i think the tranny is dying.

they gave us a 2012 ford explorer to drive.. i told my brother he better get used to it as i bet it will be a while before its fixed
