Deep Impact Blue!
I get horrible mileage out of my 370Z. About 27 on the highway. I am betting the mustang GT probably comes very close to that.

Not arguing, just haven't kept up with them because I don't like the car that much. What's popping on them, specifically?

Also the same thing could be said about Z06, owners are douchebags, all they do is rev their motors and get smoked by GTR's.
I don't know how its possible but I see more Corvette fails than Mustang fails. The best being a c6z owner attempting to do a burn out but instead frys the clutch.

Now dont get me wrong, I would take a c6z over a GTR any day...
BUT I would take a '13 GT500 over a c6z. All my pref of course!
What's even funnier are the 370Z owners who don't know a gag video when they see one. That one's old news.

I don't know. I got 19-22 in my 505 hp Z06 mixed driving and 26 on the highway.

Pretty lame that a 332bhp motor doesn't do any better in a car of similar weight with lighter tires and driveline components and a lower drag coefficient.

That is one of my few sore points about my 370Z purchase. I expected mpg to be around 30 if I babied it on the freeway and 22-24 mixed.

The only real issues the new 5.0 is having is number 8 cylinder is coming apart. It might be an issue with cooling or it leaning out. Guys with good tunes are having no issues out of them even with kenne bells or turbos. Of course its always a good idea to go forged but I suspect most issues are with poor tunes. Any engine is susceptible to that problem.
Of course the manual trans is a bit of a turd though. Its a chinese built getrag. There are already several guys with rebuilt mt82s (getrag) or they swap to a tr6060. I wouldnt be concerned doing full bolt ons or a low pressure FI setup.
Thats the same concerns I have for the VQ though...

Cooling should hopefully be under control. The car has a factory engine oil cooler and the upgraded radiator from the Boss 302 as part of the Track Pack.

My 13 GT is an automatic. My drive to work is 40% surface street, 60% highway and I'm averaging 19.8 after 2700 miles.

Cool deal Chris!

I get about the same mileage out of my 5.0 as I did from my 370z

Ford TSB Warns Of Modifications To 2011-2012 5.0 Mustangs

Really hope it's just BS, would suck if the platform doesn't put up with mods (of any kind) well.

What's the word on the street? Are dealers voiding warranties?

The boss 302 has forged internals? That is news to me.
Also have not heard about the mustang having major issues like this. I mean, I have seen videos of the 5.0 running 10 pounds of boost and going down the 1/4 mile weekend after weekend with no built motor.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

And, as a lot of people have stated, fuel mileage isn't the number one consideration with a sports car. But the 5.0 shouldn't be any worse on gas than a Z in practical use.

Well that sucks! Here I am trying to justify a new (new to me) car purchase since my 93 Camry as a DD blows on MPG. Guess I'm going to save for a bit for a DIB 5.0.

That does suck considering how light the 370z is and how heavier v8's are getting the same mpg ratings.
