The Aventador sucks, that is why.
Unless I have one in my garage, then it is cool. ;)

They also added the 2013 GT-R because there were some revisions. A bit of a power bump and some suspension tweaking. Yeah the Viper should do well next year.

It's joke bro. I read the article before it was posted here. :P

And they think the extra weight on the Aventador is because of the heavier type of CF being used on the production model. Also, the 2013 GTR is in there because it was REVISED, not because it was in their long-term test fleet. It simply happened to be the same one.

yea but the mustang was "revised" this past year since it got new tail lights and front fascia/headlights and a slight power bump. it wasn't included in this test. had they not had the 2013 GTR on hand, i doubt it would have been a part of this test.

Ummm did you happen to miss the GT500 in there? No reason to include both the 5.0 and the GT500. :ugh2:

Also they've included the GT-R in the past 3 years even though they didn't have a long term car all those years.

Yeah they had mentioned that it won 2nd place in the past 2 years before this one. They also said that GT-R handled better last year and that there was more mid corner understeer this year.

as close as the competition is, it wouldn't surprise me if the difference was a suspension alignment difference (which can make a big difference). the tires are the same specs and the car still weighs the same. its not like 15 more hp is going to suddenly change the dynamic characteristics. from what i've heard, the VR was heavily revised though, i think it got new heads, cams, exhaust manifolds, etc. i think it retained the already larger turbo piping and intercoolers from the '12. think the exhaust was also a hair larger stock now too. they "revised" the suspension again but i think that was only for foreign market where they have the asymmetrical setup for RHD cars to help balance them out side to side

That's what I thought too.

Didn't they say though that the one they drove in Europe was a prototype?

Indeed. And that the prototype used a different type of CF that weighs less that the CF used on the production model.

that was a strange result as they only tweaked the spring rates ever so slighty thats all that was changed in the suspension

That's going to be a fun one. I'm hoping the Aventador pulls out the win. No GT-R domination this year.

b1adesofcha0s 08-24-2012 10:46 PM

And I present to you, the World's Greatest Drag Race 2: Revenge of the Aventador.

I'd like to see their list for cars, with 4-5K in mods :)

The Z would be pushing the Porsche on that list...
