In my experience "day trader" equals drug dealer or trust fund baby. Both have enough money to gamble with day trades. Losing $10k on GTR sale isn't a good business move regardless of money he makes. But hey it's guys like this who fund luxury car dealers! I'm all for people making living off not so bright guys with wads of cash to burn. That's what fuels our economy!

Haha. That's what it seemed like to me.
The questions being asked don't seem like the kinds of questions a guy who made millions on his own would ask. So I thought, yep trust fund kid. Tapatalk & such etc |

The GT-R is a "nicer car". It is a faster car. It is a quicker car. It is a better handling car. It is a cheaper car to own. The ONLY thing you get with the Gallardo are (arguably) looks, and definitely "prestige" for owning an italian car that stickers for what it does. I could care less what people think, so I would pick the "better" car. If you are finding the AWD and all that "boring" and want something more involved/lively, check out the Evora S, or the new Viper, or something like that. Just my .02, but probably worthless to you as you and I think very differently obviously (no insult or jab, just fact that people tend to ignore when offering E-Advice). PS. As to all the people worried about if/how you got your money (if you have it)...matters why? I will never meet you regardless of your income or inheritance, or honesty or lies. YMMV. |

Yea GTR is so exclusive here too! Seems like this guy does not like the fact that the GTR is a sleeper. I guess the GTR gives me orgasms because its obtainable and a lambo isnt for me. I guess i dont lust on things i cant have

I kinda disagree with some of you all if he is using actually working what he does and uses the GTR for what he says he does, which is meeting clients. IMO based solely on the fact of winning them over with the look of " Hey look at what I drive, I must be successfull and know what I am doing with your money", get a Ferrari or Aston Martin.
Lambo's IMO or for people that have more money than sense and kinda come across that you live in the fast lane which if I was a potential client with have some second guesses with giving you money to invest with. Dont get me wrong I would take one, but I think from a more, I want to look successful but not come across as money reckless, the Ferrari's and Martin's come across as more educated and refined. I would either go with a 599 or a 458. I would even toss around the idea of a Virage or a DBS. You seem to already have a dedicated track car and a dedicated DD. Hell even a couple year old DB9 with a mansory kit on it would easily get you the super rare look too. Saw one in person earlier this year at a car show and every girl or guy was drooling over it. It was black on black with HRE's and was absolutely gorgeous. Was saying the kit was right around $25k unpainted. Something like those mentioned gets you the super rare exotic look but also can meet the rare clients that know a thing or two about cars. But the cars I mentioned new are also above what you are looking to spend on the Lambo with the price you gave. Maybe any of those used would get you close to $175k. Ninja edit: After looking up the price for a LP550-2, they are listed for around $225k for a 2012 so I am going to guess you are buying used so in that case I still stand behind finding one of the ones I listed used also. Should be somewhere close in price range. At the end of the day though, it is your choice to make. Last edited by Japanjay; 08-13-2012 at 02:27 AM. |

As much as I like the GT-R in all it's glory, the Gallardo will always be a headturner whereever you go. I would personally go with the Audi R8 though...or a Ferrari...a classic Ferrari.

All hell breaks loose and the competition is banished. (unless your a Veyron or Veyron Super Sport.... or the Henessey Venom GT) .....

There is a lot of think you need to consider. First not sure where you live? But I personally would not be too comfortable driving and parking a Lambo in my area. But then again, upgrading from a GTR to a Lambo is a no brainier. As much as how much I love the GTR... if I can get a Lambo Garllardo... I would too.
Give the year for the GTR.. that's normal in how much you will get from a trade-in. My friend just bought a 2011 with less miles for $63,000. The dealer will always rip you off. Try to do private sales. |
