But, a 14.5 and a 14.0? Not so much lol These speeds, for sure there's a good bit of difference, but I wouldnt go so far as to say it's ginormous...

I think my definition of "huge" as far as gaps in timeslips in a drag race vary from yours.
0.5 seconds CAN be huge, but that is all relative - I suppose I was just saying that when I think of "huge", I think of the difference between 9.99 and 10.49. Not a low 12 and a high 11, when I was running those times in my old Camaro lol. I know what it takes to run them, because I've done it. And if 80 horsepower/300 pounds arent enough to motivate a good 0.5 seconds and 90 feet out of a car... Maybe drag strip times in the 11's/12's just simply don't impress me anymore. *shrug*

From the article:
"The clutch pedal is very heavy, has a lot of travel, and is difficult to push all the way to the firewall. And if you tried the ZL1's "no-lift shift" technique in the Ford, you'd rip the body-mounted linkage right out of the transmission tunnel." So far nearly every article seems to be biased and a sad attempt to justify how good the ZL-1 is. If you have trouble pushing the clutch to the floor you should not be in this car in the first place. Like I've said before, both are great cars...now when will someone come out with an article that simply discusses each one without having to find something to justify the other's worth? This is actually a compliment however, to me it makes the author seem like he's paid by Chevy to write the article. And YES...the GT500 is more of a drag car than a road race car, if it wasn't it would have the independent rear. Again, in the real world...you're going to end up running from a stop or roll. Go to a trackday and yes unless you can really drive well, the ZL-1 will have an edge. I hope they have Probst do a drive in each since he seems to provide good and honest feedback.

Yeah I understand completely. I'm probably being too extreme on what I find impressive anyway. Maybe after seeing these amazing cars made from scrap heaps back in Omaha that run 9's has spoiled me into realizing that drag racing is fairly dumb and 11's/12's is the new 13's/14's lol
