GM's reliability and the cheap interior of the ZL-1 is what would steer me away from one. When I was at the GM show up in Carlisle, there were ZL-1's in nearly every color and you are correct, unless you spot the carbon hood insert, they look identical to the SS.
I'm still not impressed with the power, 480RWHP on the dyno? That doesn't even match my 2010's 511RWHP stock and as far as track times, etc...few people even have background to realize the differences so that is pure fanboy talk. They are both fun cars so in the end it comes down to getting what you like. |

Secondly, you'd be surprised what they let you drive if you dress up nicely and show up in a fancy car. Salesman judge people a lot by how they look when they pull up. I usually wear dress casual and bring my 370 when I go test driving, just so there's no wasted time saying, "I'm not here to look at a Fiesta" :facepalm: |

Actually, when I was looking into the GT500's I did stop by a few dealers and they would not let anyone test drive the car. However, if you go to a non-Ford dealership it is not an issue. I saw one on Mother's Day and pulled in, 5 minutes later the wife and I were driving the GT500 and a week later I bought one. Next time I'm at a meet let me know and I'll take you for a ride. Of course, being FFX I will have to keep it somewhat "tame" :driving: |
