The difference is you get the free 3 year 50k warranty regardless of your negotiating skills. I negotiated from invoice and paid 45k; however, I didn't want all the extra's like navi, cooled/heated seats, etc - just sports package, which I'm sure reduced the overall price by several thousand.

Aside from the bad drivers (every model brand has them, 370z included), they probably really liked your car and thought it was cool. Don't take it as an insult, don't be overly sensitive. As long as there is no immediate danger (cars around you), imo no harm in a little 4 second romp on the accelerator. have fun, but stay safe.

The free warranty doesn't cover everything, though. And if BMW decides that your problem isn't under warranty, you have to pay sky high repair costs.

What doesn't it cover? I guess that's a better question. Hell, they way I hold my steering wheel caused the decal to rub off a little and they replaced that around 30k. I've never been denied anything under 3 year/50k.

I think many people mistake the BMW warranty like many other American drive train warranties or other imports. This waranty is all inclusive, including brake pads, oil changes, everything. Really is a big positive.

Well, my dad's Z4 had a dent in the oil pan caused by daily driving. Nothing out of the ordinary. They tried to charge him 2k for it, still well under warranty. He had to fight tooth and nail with the dealership over that.

Once you're through warranty, everything costs and arm and a leg. Not worth owning past that.

The German cars are expensive out of warranty. Replacing a $50 sensor on the CLK500 cost $700 with labor. Couldn't do it on our own because of the silly STAR nonsense.

Me, too, but everyone has their own priorities with vehicle ownership. I know millionaires who own and drive beaters.

Heck, when Jeff Conine was a Baltimore Oriole, he'd drive up in his minivan and park it next to the ferraris, lexuses, and cadillacs in the players' parking lot

i can be open minded to this. its really only the swerving right in front of me way to close that is inexcusable. and yea, i have seen a few 350 drivers doing similar stuff TBO
