so remember that infiniti v6 tt patent...
looks like infiniti will be planning to put down some serious power in the new g IPL. unfortunately for us, it doesnt look like we will be getting a v6tt standard in the next gen z. i do however see that a DI vq is in the works. which would be what i would expect to see in the next z car
Infiniti Super G with 530-hp Twin-Turbo V-6 in Pipeline - Motor Trend |
maybe (hopefully) there will be a TT option for the Z. The G is nice and all, but there are way too many of them on the street and the Z is still suppose dot be their true sports car while the G is their sports sedan/sporty coupe
|
GTR is nissans sports car.... I dont see a TT V6 coming to the Z at all.. It makes a little more sense to put it in the G to cut down on the M3/C63 type of market IMO
|
gtr is their super car, the Z is their affordable sports car for the average enthusiast, but yes, the tt coming to the Z is not looking likely.
|
I was going to say, time to save and consider the new super G until i read the article and saw that it would cost more than a gt-r....
|
Possible engine swap?
|
considering it's an infiniti i would guess it should cost more than a nissan...(?)
either way too much power for me to use on street. |
There's an interview with the man that created the gtr and he says the next g comes out next year not summer of 2014. So I don't know how much to make of this interview.

i don't need 530 hp (though, i wouldn't mind), a FI 400 hp Z would make me plenty happy

I hope this is true, so that the IPL name actually gets some substance behind it.
A DI 370Z with 360+ hp would be great :) |
Price tag is going to severely limit sales... I have only seen one IPL on the road as it is.

might have been more successful if it was somewhere in between the G and gtr like an m3. 110k for a G will be a tough sell, especially if it looks about the same as the tons of regular models you are going to see on the street. you expect some sense of exclusivity when spending 100k+ on a car.
