you all need to keep in mind that the prices he is referring to are most likely conversions from Japanese yen. In Japan, the GT-R and M3 are actually priced pretty similarly, which is why I believe he is stating the IPL G would be around the $100k mark. There is absolutely no way that Nissan would sell an Infiniti G for upwards of $100k in the US, especially when it is supposed to compete with cars in the $75k range.
but as others have mentioned, this interview is confusing on many fronts. most speculation until now has pegged a 2013 release date for the new G. 2014 seems really far away considering the current G was refreshed in 2010. Also, almost none of it matches with the recent trademarks registered by Infiniti (G20t, G30t, G20d, G35h). I would be pretty excited to see a DI VQ37 in the next gen Z, though. I figure that'd be good for ~355 hp with about 24/32 mpg. |
