Default Thinking About Moving to a Z32TT

Hey everyone! I've thought about what I want to do with the Z and I've decided to sell it over the summer and start looking for a 1990-1996 300ZX. I noticed there are a number of members here that have owned both the Z34 and Z32 and was wondering how you would compare the two in terms of performance, handling, and the way the car makes you feel when driving.

I've been hanging around specialtyZ a bit much I guess, but I love the way the Z32 looks and love boost in a RWD light package. So let me know what ya'll think of a Z32TT!

Ninja Edit: I'm a member of 300zxclub, but are there any others I should look at? What's the best place to find a Z32TT for sale?

Not really a light package but with bolt-ons its a low 12 sec car. Not fun to work on with the tight engine bay.. If you want light , RWD and turbo do a swap light im doing now with a S30 body and your pick or SR30 RB whichever or 2JZ.

absolute truth! I have owned several z32's.. only owned TT's so I can't comment much on the NA. however, I recently sold my black auto TT...
I have a red one in Tucson still, awaiting some parts and funds
If you have a good amount of engine pulling experience you should be ok, because you have to pull the motor to do most anything on the engine.

great car, I love mine, I wish my red one was with me in 100% working order..
but it doesn't compare to the z34...

The 370z has more horsepower, feels more planted... I don't drag so I can't tell you about straight line performance. The 370z seems to hug the curves so much more.

the z32 is so much fun, and being boosted from the factory is a dream. After a boost controller and a tune I think I was at/above 300whp. It's not super expensive to mod, but it isn't cheap like a DSM either. the Z32 has HICAS, which imho is cool, but worth removing.

It's a cool car, would I trade my 370z for it, probably not. Side project car, yes.

Well, I own a Z34TT and Z32TT. They are two completly different animals.
I love both, and I try and share the love driving both.
Honeslty, I am lucky to have a tech that was certified on the Z32 when it came out, and knows the car backwards and forwards. I spent a lot of money, and I mean a lot $$$, to get the car right. I am sure any Z32TT owner will tell you, once you get all the gremlins out and do some of the common deletes, it's a great and fun car. But be prepared to have some repair bills coming you way unless you know what your doing.

The biggest issue I had, and honestly knock on wood is gone, was coolant leaks. The hoses are 20years old and kept cracking or ballooning over time. I think I replaced just about every damn coolant hose possible. And there are a **** ton!

If you can find one it great condifiton with great service records , you may fair well.

Things to look for :
100K done
Service Records
Leaks ( oil, coolant)
Brakes in good condition
Gears grind when you shift
Just some thing off the top of my head.

But I love my Z32. It's very quick, lots of low end tq, and people will come over and talk to me about the car 100x more than my Z34.

And the best, it has T-tops!...lol

Hope that helps some

I loved those Z's but the "gremlins" scared me away from them.
