Hey, I have both so I can chime in a bit.

An STi on a rally stage (or any dirtroad, snow trail, and so on) is insanely fun. All you need are different tires. If that does not sound like you then I would get the Z.

If you don't plan on doing heavy modding, get the Z. If you plan on putting a lot of money in your car, then then there are almost no limits to what you can do with the STi (after you replace pistons with race spec, as you do with most cars during heavy modding)

Don't let the ringland failures scare you away. Despite the many posts, it is actually quite rare. Proper tunes can also decrease your odds of failure.

I am obsessed with both cars and know plenty about them. If you need any more info don't hesitate to pm me.

save your money on the intake... it's pretty well proven to have little to no gain until 400 whp. Supposedly the most restrictive part is the downpipe. For over 300 whp the local tuner here says a TBE, IC, and EBCS. I don't think even the full TBE is needed however... the downpipe itself frees a lot of power up.

Wow, that's a strong sound going up to redline with the F.I. headers & catback exhaust.

Yeah, the F.I. set-up is very nice. I loved the tone of my ART pipes and F.I. exhaust.

Man I love he sound of these VQ motors on the revs with a good exhaust system. I need to record mine to see what it really sounds like outside. Inside mine is subdued. However, when I get on it I know it whales.

Buy a 370Z you won't be sorry... Less to go wrong, fast, looks great, quality build and will last you a long time.

I've often though about getting a WRX or STI. For some reason after test driving them they remind me of my old VW. Not sure I'll ever get over that. Great cars though.

To each his own.. I think both the sedan and hatchback look great IMO. The 5 door model is either love it or hate it. First time I'm hearing someone hate both though..
