It feels different. "better" is subjective. Take one for a spin.

That's it, pretty much. You can do a search and find where it's been discussed ad nauseam. You can dig up Red__Zed's "car thoughts" or his old "5.0" thread for some commentary. You can find some of mine around the forum as well.

The Mustang will feel heavier and a little bigger because, well, it's heavier and a little bigger. ;) If you drive one you need to drive it for a while because if you are not used to driving heavier cars it's going to take a bit of time to acclimate yourself before you can actually get a feel for how it handles.

Another thing to consider on your test drive is Sport Mode. To activate, hold the brake and quickly tap the traction control button twice. This will tighten up the steering and the traction and stability control systems give you far more liberty. It's a fairly intelligent system that will let you spin the tires without killing power and gives you several degrees of yaw before it starts to intervene. Makes things more fun and lets you keep a safety net in case you mess up.

Bottom line is it's different. But it is very much at home on a twisty road. The extra power is just a plus.

I really don't understand in this day and age why people are still so gaga over horsepower. Anything over 350hp for a daily driver is really unnecessary unless you're on the autobahn.

Sorry just my 2 cents...

I would argue that anything over 200hp is unnecessary for a daily driver. All of your Z's are unnecessary! :p

Steve, why did you get rid of your 370z?

I had it for a while and wanted to move on to something different.

You didn't have any problems with your Z when you still had it right? Was it Red Zed who had some issues with his?

I agree that there are mustangs everywhere and I dont see a lot of 370 which I like BUT everyone will have a 370 when the price drops just like everyone has the 350 now. A bunch of mustangs I see are v6 and it's more rare to see a v8 5.0 which is what I would get. I really used to hate mustangs but they have grown on me recently and not to mention are more mod friendly. (I've never owned an American car so itd be a first)

I had some issues, but I think he had some more serious ones. I had the ECU whine and the throttle lag/bogging. They probably contributed somewhat to my decision but definitely weren't the driving force.

Not really. If you compare sales from the 350Z to the 370Z, they are MUCH lower for the 370Z. The 370Z will never be as popular as the 350Z was.

I can see that. Idk how though because the 370 looks years better than a 350.

People had more money to spend back in the early 2000's. Now people are broke; losing their jobs and homes. Sports car is not so popular today compared to the 350z days. Housing market crashed in 2008, 370z released in 2009 - not good.

TongMan 03-22-2012 08:54 AM

I forgot to mention gas prices more than doubled.

864Zbeast 03-22-2012 08:56 AM

I agree with that. Makes sense.

nepali 03-22-2012 08:58 AM

It will be a while before 370z is as popular as, if not more than, 350z.
