I think they will probably use the Nismo developed a 3.4-liter VK-series V8 engine from LMP2 cars. That also looks a lot like the upcoming '13 Altima, which corresponds with what I've seen on the Australian V8 Supercar series.

I mean, it could be. Looks very similar to the way the Maxima lights are, but a facelifted Altima could very well be the thing. Body shape is a little more like an Altima.

will they be allowing that engine into the series? Slash do you think it will be competitive?

I really can't see them making the rule changes to allow in another v8

The V8 supercars use V8s (doh :p) and RWD. A solid rear axle with watts link, no less. :stirthepot:

damn, I was hoping there would be turns :(

Not sure how much power that thing makes, but its done pretty well in in LMP2. Its gonna have to be within the 620-650hp to compete with the Fords & Chevy's. Rumors are, Chrysler is looking to jump into the mix also.

:bowrofl: From what I remember of the v8 supercars series, whoever has a car that survives all the collisions wins. And being Australian, if you don't make contact with another car, you're disqualified.

you just gotta wonder how they're going to tweak the rules to allow the 3.4 to compete with the pushrod 5.0s in a fair way.

All I know is I don't care for the races, I can't wait to see it win and the driver pee's on the others instead of champagne. :stirthepot:

Think about it... :icon08:
