New Moddiction shift knob and shift boot

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-B...226_103723.jpg

The knob is awesome. Perfect size and weighting, and the textured finish has a great feel. The red is obviously darker in normal light, matching the car. The boot is OK... it's better than OEM but it's still vinyl. Need to make a real leather one sometime.

Red__Zed 03-01-2012 01:36 PM

Steve do you have the stock shift knob in your 5.0?

Alchemy 03-01-2012 01:42 PM

I have a Grabber Pony ball shift knob. White acrylic with black gear pattern and the chrome jam nut since I have the 401A boot. I like it a lot. Kind of an old school feel to it.

This is the only pic I have of it on my phone.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-i...8-47-04_87.jpg

I also have the Lloyd's 5.0 floor mats as you can tell.

Steve, Dan...

I have the MGW knob. It's essentially all the same as the others. A round cue/8 ball, modified to have threads, and etchings/paint for gear labels. Like Steve said, it's old school. Versus the stock knob, the round cueball shape feels better.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...e/DSC_0470.jpg

I also have the lloyd's 5.0 mats, but currently under a plastic beater mat. I'm working on a better transparent/lucent mat to help see the 5.0 logo better. Either that or I buy another 5.0 mat to put on top :D

S2000 passed emissions & safety inspection today... yay now I can go to the DMV to stand in line and pay my sales tax and registration fees. :|

The MSRP for a New S2K wasn't nearly 40K if I remember correctly...

Honda was selling them for ~ 32-34K I believe which was a steal all things considered. A nice low mileage CPO S2K can be had for under 25K now which is really a steal.

You'd have to spend A LOT more to get a comparable drivers car with the exception being the MX-5.

But yeah I think an effort should be made in educating people what makes a good drivers car.

As mentioned there is far too much emphasis on HP / test track #'s. Many of the funnest cars to drive are not amongst the quickest.

To be honest I have no idea why I'm doing it. At dinner tonight I told my gf I have no idea why she even wants the car tinted. She denied everything and confused the hell out of me. Who wanted the S to get tinted?

Doesn't matter because Jay (GM_Traitor3.5) already set up our back to back appointments. Now that I think about it I bet it was his idea... he didn't want to go by himself. :bowrofl:

Either way, it will be nice to have when you have to drive with the windows up. I think I'm doing 50% sides (legal limit in VA) and 35% on the rear window.

6MT 03-02-2012 10:47 PM

Yeah It was suppose to be "funnest" Not "funniest". Super funny stuff I know. I couldn't stop laughing for the life of me....

My phone has a tendency to auto-wrong words from time to time.

Your phone does that because "funnest" is not a word :roflpuke2:

But the S2k is not a fun car, at all. It's a very serious car. Ergo, S2000, as in Serious 2000. Duh.

m4a1mustang 03-03-2012 09:13 PM

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-U...303_110012.jpg

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-N...303_130930.jpg

50% sides and 30% rear. 50% is the legal limit in VA for the side windows and I've been pulled over before for 35% so I decided to keep it legal.

Kind of a wacky day. Tint shop was way behind and they took FOREVER on GM_Traitor3.5's Maxima. So we did what any responsible adults would do to pass the time and played on the rail road tracks.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9...303_130534.jpg

:rofl2:

Back to tint news, the state House passed a bill to change the legal tint limit to 35% this month. It needs to pass the Senate yet. If it does, the 5.0 is going in to get 35% on the side windows again and I'll probably have the S redone. Will do the Benz while I'm at it. Fingers crossed.

ZMan8 03-04-2012 03:57 PM

First I see tints on roadster. I like it!

b1adesofcha0s 03-04-2012 04:13 PM

Looks good

I have mine at 35% for the Z (legal limit) and now I kinda wish I had gotten it darker, maybe like 20-25%.

Isamu 03-04-2012 04:31 PM

this should be the I don't own a z anymore, but i troll the site anyway thread!

We really like them and might have them powdercoated. I've seen them done in a light gold or darker bronze and they look really good.

For now, though, the car is just going to get some Star Specs and we'll figure everything else out later.

No my phone auto wronged the word "funnest" which IS a word to "funniest" which is also a word but was used in the wrong context.

Meaning the S2K is one of the "funnest" cars to drive. You can also say "most fun", "most enjoyable" , "entertaining", etc. The point is all the same.
