I didn't take any pics of it, but I installed a temporary Wheelskins leather cover today on the steering wheel. Ugh... these covers suck for steering wheels that have contours for your hands. It will do for now, but as soon as I feel like dropping the coin I'm going to have the wheel reupholstered.

I just ordered my Michelin Pilot Super Sports for the 5.0. 275/35/19 all around. Should have gobs of grip come Spring!

I don't know from first hand experience, because i've not bought the supersports. but i was told by a couple buddies of mine they will just stick to PS2s because they didn't notice enough difference to justify it.

Interested in your thoughts on this. whether you agree or disagree:tiphat:

Pilot Sport 2
Pilot SUPER Sport

Super > 2

Regarding price differences. especially since deals on PS2s are easy to come by and super sports don't get the same generous markdowns.

Whether the performance difference is > price difference

Rooster89 02-22-2012 04:27 PM

now i check tire rack and super sports are all cheaper than ps2s. thank you tire rack! nvm

b1adesofcha0s 02-22-2012 07:16 PM

I want another ride in teh 5.sl0w once you get your mee sha Lin's and Koni's on. Also want a ride in the s2k.

m4a1mustang 02-22-2012 07:49 PM

Actually, two guys are not allowed to ride in the S2K at the same time. So I can only give rides with the 5.0.

lol, 2 guys in a S2000...that'd be a no go. hehe

So I know people don't like the American Top Gear but last night's had a muscle car challenge and a race using the Roush Stage 3 and Boss against two real horses. But the real reason I bring this up is cause they split screen the the "stig" tracking both and the NA Boss beat the SC Roush.

was it a tight track?

Either way, it makes sense with brakes/tires/rear dampers

Yeah, it's a terrible show, but that's an interesting result.

No issues = only breaking 5 of the 6 forward gears? :icon17:

b1adesofcha0s 02-22-2012 08:35 PM

I'd prove it to you in the s2k, but you can't have 2 guys in one. Therefore, I will have to drive the 5.0 to prove to you I can drive a 6MT so that I can drive the s2k. :icon17:

FromG2Z 02-24-2012 03:47 PM

Wow... I didn't know this thread existed. Thanks for the link Steve.

Congrats on the S2k purchase. Now we all know you just wanted to be like Dan ;)

Yeah, I look forward to all your mods, but I hope this doesn't mean the 5.0 will take a back seat to your mods. Did you get the MGW shifter yet??? That's a must, my friend.

Btw, speaking of S2k, did you know I cross shopped that S2k with the Z back in end of 2009? I ALMOST got a blue S2k...but the wifey just didn't like the cramped interior. So we opted for the Z instead. She also said it looked better than the S2k. But I've always loved the S2k.....

Again, congrats and good find.

p.s. BUY THE MGW.

m4a1mustang 02-24-2012 03:48 PM

No the 5.0 is getting the serious stuff. S2K is just for fun.

I might pick up the MGW but tbh I am happy with the stock shifter.

I nearly bought an s2k back in 2003, but I opted for practicality when I bought my current beater. It paid off when we got a foot of snow that following winter.

But I do love those cars. But I also couldn't deal with the cramped feeling.

Still, they have a perfect sports car feel.

m4a1mustang 02-24-2012 03:51 PM

I would never have bought the S2000 to be an only car. It's like an accessory car. It's nice to have when you want to drive a big go kart.
