i do not like that front splitter. looks too busy for the simple lines of the s2k.
keep it clean steve. what about: http://images.uptilo.com/chargespeed...21C6DB1C6B.jpg ? |
Ah that's not bad at all. Clean, but a hair more aggressive over the stock look.

Phelan that's an AP1.
This is the lip (OEM) without the splitter. I think it is cleaner this way. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...age&img=263209 |
oh, oops, sorry. i'm not familiar with AP1 and AP2 differences. carry on!

Nice pick up!
I have not had the pleasure of driving an S2000 (been a passenger) but wow did it handle, I could only imagine when actually driving it myself Oh and I say go for the hardtop. Looks great |

CR lip looks a bit out of place, especially from that angle. |

+1 for Hardtop. I'm not sure about your area, but in chicago people cut right into the soft top and steal what they want without triggering an alarm.

We're brothers Steve!

It's a fair-weather car, though, so it will be parked in safe areas to the best of my ability. It's not a primary car so nothing will be kept inside, so if they cut it open well they'll just be disappointed by what they find. I need to get those "seat lock" stickers for the windows. :icon17: |

Someone tell me what I should use to clean and protect the top.

awesome! best of luck with the S2k
|
The Spoon hardtop was designed in a wind tunnel to aid in drag. Thats why it costs so much. Its the top of choice in Japan for road race s2000's.

Oh, so one bummer. I am missing the wheel lock key. The dealership is checking to see if they (or the previous owner) have it. If not I am going to order a new set and spin the current ones off with a turbo socket.
|
Nice stable

I love the s2k, the gearbox is divine (my biggest gripe with the m6 Z) and it is well balance. Having a drop top makes it all that more enjoyable. However, the s2k does not respond to bolt on power mods. I know that's not what most people intend to do with it when they pick one up but who wouldn't want a little more power. With that said an S/Ced s2k is a beast, it'll make 360whp on a safe tune and outrun just about anything.

I figure I'll need a soft brush and some sort of convertible top soap. :p |

So tonight in the airport parking garage I noticed a click from the left rear wheel when accelerating from a stop. I think it's an issue of the spindle nut not being tight enough. I did some searching and it seems like this is the case. My only fear is that due to the mileage on the car it might be too late to get by with just re-tightening and re-staking (or completely replacing) the spindle nut. I might need to replace the hub and wheel bearing as well. Though I didn't notice it when testing the car last week, so maybe it's a new development and re-tightening will be fine.
Parts are not expensive, but it seems like a PITA. I guess I'll look into it this weekend. In happier news, the suitcase fits! https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D...213_210238.jpg |
Nice new toy.

Congrats on the new ride Steve! The S2k is the perfect car to toy with...I would love to get one, house first though.
|
Thanks! I doubt I'll buy any other cars before a house. Hard to tell, though. Content with apartment living 'til I am 100% sure where I'm going to be for a while.

So now that car purchase shock is wearing off, I am going back to putting Michelin PSS on the 5.0 and Conti DW on the S2K. :icon17:
|
RE11's>PSS....that is all
|
Quote:
My only real options are PSS in OEM size 255/40/19 (27" tall) or 275/35/19 (26.6" tall). |
