Nice ride! Star specs are a lot of fun on that car. I loved mine--great for mountain drives. I never had issues with rain until the tread was pretty worn. Well, actually, I had issues with hydroplaning in heavy rain, and it got progressively worse as the tires wore down, but I always had great wet grip.
If you like induction noise, pop the intake lid off sometime and hear what it sounds like. (The stock intake is an SRI with a lid clipped on top, so you'll get the full intake sound in two seconds.) I bought a CAI for the S2000 right after I did that. I always got a lot of compliments on the sound of the car, and with just the CAI the car was pretty quiet until about 4-5k RPMs. The top protectant I used a lot was Raggtopp. I got the cleaner and protectant from an s2ki forum guy Modifry. It was a bit pricey, but it seemed to work well. I still have about half of it left and don't have the car anymore--PM me if you want it and I'll send it to you whenever I get around the post office. |

Way too much, I think I overheard 1200-1300 whp range. It's a beautiful car, Johnny is turning into a domestic head now!! I believe the Texas2K12 event is held at Hennesy's facility out near Katy, Texas, 200mph + runs.....it will be interesting. Many many hi-horsepower fanatics will be there lol.

I like where you were going with the green. I like the bullet green myself.

It's a shame Honda discontinued the S2K but considering nobody was buying them its no surprise.
I guess the HP wars killed the sales which is sad. Not enough people understand that test track #'s don't necessarily equate to the best car to drive. |

I have long defended "gay" jokes from my friends over me liking the miata. Performance is not determined by just HP numbers, but most consumers just look at hp/price when dealing with performance cars. I think the s2k was not selling as well also because the economy crashed and nobody really wanted to pay 40k for a honda that is mostly a summer car and a 2 seater.

Plus, iirc, Honda was marketing mostly for the reliable family car image, which the S2k really doesn't fit. It's a reliable car, sure, but the sports car image doesn't necessarily fit with that. |
