I just bought a 240sx hatch
 

Hey guys

I bought a 240sx hatchback 89 today, just wanted to share with you guys. I'm not sure what I want to do with it but a got a lot of ideas. Suggestions are welcome. :happydance:

What's done to it? I like the wheels/stance at least....NOT liking the stupid JDM hood-pop.

I'm a member on Zilvia (same user name) as well as here, though I've been there longer for obvious reasons. Car looks awesome man! Does it have KA or SR motor?

Tip for you, Zilvia members don't spoon feed like they do here, so if you ask beaten to death questions about offset, engine swaps, etc, prepare your flame suit and have your thread locked with quickness. Your best bet is to join, lurk, search and lurk some more and have fun once you gain access to the marketplace. The marketplace has anything and everything you need.

Everything is stocked, except for the black lip and suspensions, and yes it has a KA motor. Thanks for the advise :tup:

Just noticed you're from FL. Do be careful. There's a lot of threads about stolen 240's down there. First thing definitely get a 2 way alarm + club + kill switch etc...stock or not, be careful.

For the OP. Good color choice. I always prefer white on the 240's though I am more than a bit biased.

From what I read, the best places to start is usually the suspension since most of the stock pieces are going to be very tired with age. I opted for keeping the stock parts on mine and just replaced/upgraded the bushings to the polyurethane ones for the time being. Will eventually go to all adjustable, but that is going to be a costly job with the other items I plan to do at the same time.

I love the pignose! I can't tell from the pictures, what kind of lip is that?

Your 1st mod should be replacing all the busted/torn/destroyed stock bushings with some new ones. I'd go poly-urethane for everything except the rear subframe. Do solid bushings on that. It'll make the car feel 10000x better. Is it a single cam or DOHC KA?

Yeah, +1 for changing out your suspension bushings (unless it was done already). That makes a dramatic change on handling, generally...

I was not sure if keep updating this old thread or open a new one, but just want to keep everyone posted about my 240sx/sr20 project. Well it is almost done, the car is running. I haven't upgrade the turbo yet or anything else in the engine, but pretty soon. Some pics of the project
