I love the Z's interior. Has a nice cockpit like feel to it.

m4a1mustang 12-26-2012 08:27 AM

See, I don't agree with that at all. To me, you only get that cockpit feel when all of the controls angle in toward the driver. The Z is really open and the center stack doesn't have a preference between driver/passenger. :p

b1adesofcha0s 12-26-2012 08:38 AM

Well I haven't really driven many sports cars other than the Z, so it's still the best one I've been in.

I don't care if it has square lights, I'll take it.

m4a1mustang 12-29-2012 05:55 PM

The rear glass looks way too big but otherwise I like it

Red__Zed 12-29-2012 05:57 PM

Rear glass and tail lights are weak spots for me.

That side profile looks great though.

Caustic 12-29-2012 06:41 PM

I don't mind the rear glass at all. As a matter of fact I welcome it. If these renders are accurate, that means visibility in all directions has been increased dramatically. Aside from the rear tail lights, I think the car looks great. This is the first corvette I might actually consider besides one from the late 60s.

travisjb 12-29-2012 08:05 PM

IMO:

front 6/10
profile 8/10
rear 3/10

damn, why can't they get this car right? it's like they keep going back to redneck focus groups asking for input? need to open up the market... unfortunately, count me out

GaleForce 12-29-2012 08:12 PM

Needs more "speed holes"

m4a1mustang 12-29-2012 09:34 PM

I'm still going to withhold final judgement until we actually see the real car. But if it does look like those renders... everything is great up until the point where they gave it the Camaro's rear end. The side profile is nearly spot on. Front has some features I don't agree with but still find pleasing. Rear, especially the tails and glass... no thanks.

:iagree:

Looks bad from the front and terrible from the rear. Side profile is ok. Sure hope it looks better in person than these renderings.

Pre production photos right? Wait until you see all technical specs of C7. They are going to be true track enthusiasts dream if what I have heard is true. All aluminum frame, competition focused active handling and abs tune, synchro rev match in manual, incredible motor.

Details? :excited:

The back of that thing looks too Camero'ish.

I'm with you, man... it's already an incredible car for the money and no doubt they are looking to dethrone the GTR... that's why the styling part kills me... otherwise I think I'd jump ship... I'm going to reserve further judgment until we see the final pics - this feedback has been pretty heavy/universal on the net and hopefully the boys in Detroit are listening and sneak in some final changes.

From what I have heard 911 appears to be target and I think they will do it. Sounds like they are focused on making it a very balanced drivers car. I think only disappointing thing is entry I price for vette is going up.

m4a1mustang 12-31-2012 01:20 PM

I'm extremely excited about this car.

That's what I'm thinking.

Still going to check out the new 5.0 when it comes out. It would certainly be a better choice for DD should I decide to hold on to the S and turn it into a race car. If I don't... C7 + 5.0 for less than an optioned 911... :icon17:

5.0 + C7 sounds like a reasonable combo to me. I just won't drive from December til march.

On one hand, those pics look like the vette needs to be further smoothed out. On the other, it's very aggressive looking and I like it. Some features on the side body are overkill. The rear window is nice but can be smoothed out some. Can't wait to see in person. Sometimes it's hard to tell from pics how nice a car really is.

UNKNOWN_370 01-11-2013 06:13 PM

I think thats some kind of diversion photoshop of the vette? That can't be the vette. Now that i'm looking at that backend closely... Why would chevy stray away from a 60 year old tradition of round taillights? Everything thats traditional is gone except for the long hood. It just seems off. A photoshop mindf*ck i think... :ugh2:

MC 01-11-2013 06:16 PM

no thats the car the front is from next months road and track and the rear is from automobile mag the debut its less than 48hrs.. its just the leaks starting to pour in
