I never like the vert when targa is an option.

Econ 01-17-2013 07:41 AM

targa's are the tits.

m4a1mustang 01-17-2013 07:47 AM

Targas are awesome. But there is something nice about dropping the whole top and opening up more than just the roof area.

to make it clearer.

A targa top is like pulling a girls shirt up to her shoulders and her bra down slightly. it works well at times and importantly it can be quick so that if you see a cop you can fix it before they pull you over again for doing **** in a public area.

A conv is like taking her shirt and bra off. Not the best idea because the cop will knock on your window and ask you to get out of the car and your only possible response will be "can i put my clothes on first" and then feel really embarrassed.

Kingbaby 01-17-2013 12:56 PM

vert looks better than the coupe

lol1234 01-17-2013 01:29 PM

Whenever I see the new C7 on the road, I'm going to give the driver a thumbs up and yell "Nice Camaro!!" just to **** with them :icon18:

I think it looks cool though.

I was going to pick up a S4 later this year for the family, but if i can get a base/Z51 for ~55k, fack the kids, they can walk.

I don't think this will come out at $55k. I am thinking more along the lines of $58,500. With modestly equiped versions fetching mid to low 60's.

ehhhh see i kinda like the vette but i wouldnt get anything but A z51 or anything other than a base model

MC 01-17-2013 04:31 PM

im guessing base MSRP is 53-54

me and my dad are getting thees options

Black/Black Interior
Auto
3LT
magnetic ride
carbon roof
carbon interior package
Z51
Black wheels
variable exhaust package
nameplate
and maybe carbon flash painted spoiler and mirrors ( not sure how it will look on black but the vents are painted that way anyway so might aswell)

my guess is thats 65-67K could

here are the options list

m4a1mustang 01-17-2013 04:55 PM

The interesting thing is this time even the base is going to be very capable. Z51 might not be an actual necessity even for those that value street performance. I am sure I will get it, but it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Location is fine... I said design. It interrupts the flow of the cars design.

m4a1mustang 01-17-2013 05:39 PM

I think the car flows just fine with the vents. It's a very sharp, aggressive design. They fit right in.

UNKNOWN_370 01-17-2013 05:45 PM

Opinions are like azzholes. Either way, I still generally like the design even with my perceived view of certain flaws. I wouldn't scratch it off my list. I've always wanted a Corvette but the price/interior always spoiled it for me. Couldn't justify the price due to it. Now the interior (Minus Button Ebrakes) is super-awesome.

OVERALL, this is still the BEST Corvette to date. :driving:

1963 and 1967 might disagree with you. But we will see.

I was born in the 70's. So my experience with them made that statement.

SS_Firehawk 01-17-2013 07:46 PM

Best engineered, emphatically YES. Most beautiful, no, not in my opinion.

there's def more than a passing resemblance, but that's not a bad thing imo.

still not 100% sold on the rear end but it's def going to be a great car and kudos to chevy for finally offering real seats in their sports car.

bigsix 01-17-2013 10:48 PM

Yea, I like that they resemble eachother. If Chevrolet did copy from Ferrari, I see that as them having balls. Bring themselves closer with the best in the world of performance cars. . .

well, it's only fair seeing as how ferrari leased GM's magnetic ride control tech for use in their 458 if iirc.

i had heard a rumor that GM sold(?) their mag.ride control technology TO Ferrari. Also, i've heard other technologies that debut in other cars actually were originally developed by GM . . . ex. Audi's cross-linked magnetized shocks that use electric signals to stiffen/loosen a metal gel inside the shock. True ? ? ?

Originally Delphi, now China... not GM

I don't think in this particular case it was GM technology, but there's a lot of sharing that happens in the industry. Case in point, Nissan uses Ford's PTWA tech to toss a layer of iron/iron oxide on the cyclinders in the GTR

Sort-of nit picky to say Delphi isn't GM. ;)

sure, for other's benefit - it became 'fully' independent in 99 before the magnetic ride systems were commercialized (i think)... business lines including the magnetic ride were sold to Chinese co in 09... licensing of the tech to GM, Ferrari and others has always been transacted by Delphi not GM and now from the Chinese co. It's possible there are patents held by GM that are cross-licensed to this entity, who knows. In any event, it seems to be a product of US engineering, which is nice to see

shadoquad 01-20-2013 12:27 PM

Excuse me, I saw a commercial with a Cadillac keeping up with a ferrari because GM birthed magnets in suspspenshuns, so obviously all your arguments are null and voided.

But honestly, I don't really care. I think the suspension advances at work in both GM products and Ferrari products are really exciting!

Sibze 01-20-2013 09:42 PM

So went to the car show this weekend. Was SUPER hard to see it because there was about a thousand people around it but from what I saw I really liked it. The interior looked great! If I was to pick on one part of it, it would be the front. I found it looked small and not aggressive? Does that make sense? Like it was not strong. Probably just me. I'm sure when I see it again next it'll look different.

Overall. It's a hot car. I got some pictures, I will try to post them tomorrow

Mike 01-20-2013 09:45 PM

so who says Corvette taillights need to be round and these aren't legit? Anyone remember the C4?
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...n/DSCN0924.jpg

And the C5 had oval taillights

Econ 01-22-2013 07:48 AM

Not my work, but i like it.

That looks soooooo much better.

DR_ 01-22-2013 08:46 AM

So the car is only a rear bumper, tail lights, and muffler tips away from looking great.

sig11 01-22-2013 08:47 AM

Really looks like a sad clown like that. :P
