How a REAL man changes his oil!
1 Attachment(s)
Get a load of this. I was with my buddy while he was changing the oil in his '04 WRX today and something went horribly wrong. He forgot to take the cap off of his drain pan and it just overflowed. He refused to clean it and thought a few shop towels would do the trick. Not only did he not change the filter, he didn't even check the oil level after he dumped 5 quarts in her and he has never changed the crush washer on his drain plug. When I asked him why he doesn't check his oil level, he said, "Where's the oil gonna go?". As a friend and automobile enthusiast, I did my best to guide him and help but he simply didn't care. You can lead a horse to water... I should also mention that he encouraged me to share this. :tiphat:

I could think of several other titles for this Post.
Atleast he wasnt working on your Z. :stirthepot: :icon17:
I thought that was the proper way to change your oil:ugh2:
Tell him to pay a professional. Case closed.
I hope he didn't do that in your garage!
he will drain the transmission oil by accident next time. :icon17: typical subymadness
Haha sheesh that seems like a very easy mistake to make :wtf2: ... Rather a shop towel i think he may need a couple beach towels!
You mean you're supposed to change it?
(Believe it or not, there are people that think that. I talked to a lady in a dealership years ago and she told me about her neighbor that bought a new car and had never changed the oil. 50k miles and the car was shot.) |
A real man lifts the car with one hand, and changes the oil with the other.
That's a badass right there...
Hahah! It was in his garage thankfully. He really doesn't care that there is a pond of oil in his garage. I told him to at least get some kitty litter to soak it up, but he didn't want to deal with it. No shame.

If you're not going to other to do the job right, what's the point in doing it at all? May as well go to a quickie lube. |
rofl, get him to just pay someone next time :( that's just bad.
Get him to pay you to do it next time :icon17:
Hahah, It was hard to watch man... because I was laughing so hard!
I wonder what he's gonna do about the oil stain? :ugh2:
wait, i don't understand it. You mean he never actually drained the old oil? but there are ramps in the pic. what's their purpose if he didn't lift the car up? how can he forget to drain the old oil out?

Drained the ATF into the drain pan, and even thought to myself, "wow, that oil sure looks clean for how many miles it has, kinda reddish too, what brand did they put in here?". When the flow had mostly subsided, then I went to pull off the oil filter. Of course it gushed out a very different-looking oil at a much higher volume than I expected, and then everything clicked in my brain and I got it all sorted out and refilled properly :) |

Also, he invites all of you to his garage to get a "real man's oil change", on the house!
