BTW I sleuthed my way into finding what company this is:
Alberta Safe Towing Ltd - 1508 49 St NW, Edmonton, AB Alberta Safe Towing? Make sure you follow up with what ever Canada's version of the BBB is, I'm sure they can make it there on a three day's ride through Maple Moose Mountain. |
Sorry to hear man. Hope all goes well. Suscribed to find out that these fools will pay!

Yes thats them. I called the owner yesterday, he changed his story. He is now saying they did pick me up but his driver used the dollys for the rear wheels the whole time. Funny thing is the driver called me about an hour later just to see how things are going and told the owner what happend. Also the dealership called. They wanna replace the whole damn engine. Engine = $11,000 Tcase/Rear diff = $14,000. When i spoke to the owner he, of course, denys damaging the drvetrain and refuses to pay for it. I then spoke with the driver who is a mechanic and knows if you go aftermarket its cheaper. So im making a deal if we send the tcase and rear diff to Jacks Transmission, both can get rebuild/upgraded for $3024. And the engine can get sent to AMS or MAP and build for $5000. So between the cost, shipping and labour. $10,000-12,000. Or i can go to court and sue for $20,000-25,000...which is what the court said i should do. I know the tow company isnt responsible for my engine. But if they agree on the deal, its still cheaper then going to court. And if i go to court, im sueing for more then just the damages. What im wondering is say i sue for $20,000 and i only get $14000 to cover the damages. Does that 14,000 go straight to the dealership or can i use that and pay $3000 for jacks transmission to do the work and use the rest for my engine and/or deminishing value? |
God forbid it ever happens again (once fixed), but grab one of these stickers:
AWD Tow Decal If they try to give you a tow on a picker truck, tell them to eat a purple veiny pimple covered d1ck. |
Don't let them cheap out on aftermarket items-- you name the price of what you want. Make sure you don't let them get some cheap crap.

I decided to get the car towed home from the dealership. I dont trust them down there. Charged me $137 to take my plugs out and tell me i had a valve float and the piston is damage and i need a whole long block. So i picked the car up since they said it was outside waiting for me. Plugs were in the cup holder, bolts that hold the boots down were by the hood where the wipers were (nice that my buddy noticed that before we drove away with the car on the flat bed) and they tried to keep my SSP Aluminum Underpanel.

Starting tearing things apart. I got the exhaust manifold, pipes and valve cover off. Tomorrow im going to jack it up, remove the side panel from the motor so i take off the timing chain and then the intake manifold. Remove the cams and then unbolt the head.

I got the intake manifold off and this is what i found.....

The rest of the valve is jammed in there and the inside the head is scratched to ****. It looks bad, not sure if that can be fixed. |
Ok i got quite abit done today. First i wanna start with apparently the dealership told the owner of the tow company that i damaged a axle seal on the left front when attempting to do my clutch. Which they noted in the work order but no signs of damage that i could see. So since i found out they told him that bs, with that and racing i was starting to have doubts about the law suit. So i went and double checked there work. They said "your tcase and rear diff are blown, theres nothing but gunk and metal chunks". I removed the drain plug from the rear diff, looks like brand new oil, and it should since i diff a oil diff change about a month ago (2000km). No metal shavings or shunks either. I then moved on to the transmission. Transmission looked perfect, as it should since new oil was put in with the clutch. Then i looked at the tcase. and found this....
http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2257.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2260.jpg So obviously the tcase is blown. Now what makes me happy is i know this *** clown is going to say "oh he damaged the axle seal which caused his drivetrain to blow" WRONG!! If i did damage the axle seal, which i see no signs of at all, it was on the driver side which goes to the transmission. Dealership said the tranny wasnt damaged. The damaged seal, is obviously in the tcase, with the rest of the oil all over it. So my buddy came over with a impact gun, it took 350ftlb's to break that crank pulley loose. I couldnt locate the 4th bolt hollywood mentions in the instructions im following that he wrote for Cosworth cams. He said theres 4 bolts holding down the lower AC bracket. So we went a step further, since it will have to be done and removed the power stearing pump, altinator and ac pump. Then got the cams and everything else off. Soon as we removed the cam, the broke valve with the spring was able to come right out. I didnt have a long t-55 torx socket so work is on hold for a few days until i can get one. Heres a few more pictures. http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/_MG_2271.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/_MG_2272.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/_MG_2274.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2266.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2267.jpg http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_2268.jpg |
