I forgot about the magnetic ride control. That stuff does wonders.

Does it shift my gears so I can sip my latte?

i will give you the vette has a decent trunk area, especially compared to a 911 but the 911 and the GTR perform pretty well in the snow/inclement weather with their AWD and if i'm not mistaken, the GTR has the most ground clearance of any car in it's class. if it was snowing out and i had to go somewhere, that'd be the car i wanted to be in

Yes, Nissan even tried to say the GT-R had a "mud/snow" mode (also known as Launch Control)...

However, if you are daily driving one of these cars in the snow, why not drive the ZR1? You're obviously rich as hell and just out to see what you can destroy, so why not do it in tail-wagging style?

ZR1 doesn't need you to shift. First gear will take you anywhere you need to go in the US if you stick to the slow-lane on the freeway and are content with doing a bit over 60.

No but it helps prevent spillage.

if i'm driving in the snow, it's to get to work or the grocery store so i can eat. i'm sure the GTR would be fun in the snow too if you wanted it to be. it's 98% rear torque bias means the back end would step out with no problem, but instead of having to practice your drifting skills, you just give it more gas and the front grabs and pulls the car back into shape. to me, that's preferable but to each their own :shrugs:

Anyone else surprised that they have the Panamera Turbo S in 3rd place, but they didn't test a 911? Is that just because the 2012 911's aren't available yet?

HKYStormFront 01-05-2012 09:31 AM

yea there wasn't anything new from the 911 camp to test other than the GT2 RS i believe, maybe the GT3 RS 4.0. and no, i'm not surprised. top gear tested the car against the maser and AM rapide back when it came out and it was waayyyyy faster than both. despite it's ugly looks (imo), it is a stuuuupid fast car. the first time i drove a cayenne turbo at work it absolutely blew me away how fast it was and how well it handled for something so big and heavy. that elephant can dance! i can only imagine what the new ones are like with more power and 600lbs less weight or whatever it is

Damn, 1st gear takes you 60 mph? That's almost 100 km/h? A 370z would be close to redlining in 2nd gear at that speed!

Yes, now you understand why I think my Z06 is a bit much for the street at times. It will do the same thing. The top of 2nd gear is go-to-jail speed on most public highways at the officer's discretion. 4th gear = 160mph.

Gotta be able to put that power down. :icon17: I think it runs up to 66mph or so.
