I don't really want to keep DD'ing the Z. I feel like it is too nice to out high miles on, plus an auto car would be good for traffic.

Should I buy a Civic with over 150k miles?
I don't really want to keep DD'ing the Z. I feel like it is too nice to out high miles on, plus an auto car would be good for traffic. I don't really want to spend more than 3k tho. There are a lot of late 90's Civics on Craigslist with around 150k miles for this price. I was wondering how many more miles I could expect to get out of a civic with that mileage. Anybody have a ballpark figure?

If they are in good condition and have been maintained you can expect 200k+ out of them.

I found a deal on the 94 Del Sol that I picked up for a winter beater (can't say no to a targa top ). It has 170,000 on the clock and gets me to and from work every day (100 miles round trip).

But like m4a1mustang said, if they're maintained they'll run forever. I have a friend who's over 200K in hers. |

i agree. my roommate had a 96 civic with 160k on the clock and would DD it without any issues ever. I use to DD a 96 and 98 4runner with 130k on one of them. That thing handled everything like a tank and never once did it give me any problems. I think you'll be fine with a well maintained Honda or Toyota.

My dad's 96 civic went 230,000 miles before he sold it. It still ran strong when he sold it. Granted he's a slow older driver. I recommend buying from an older guy instead of a young guy who would tend to drive it harder.

Whatever floats your boat, man. Put a fart-can on it and go have some fun.

I bought a 96 Civic 4Dr LX last year for $2800.00, with 109k miles. I've probably put like $1k into it fixing stuff. Put about 10k miles on it so far. I get over 35MPG!!

I bought a '97 Civic ex a couple months ago with 158k on the odometer. I had the timing belt replaced upon pick up and paid $3200. The car runs like a champ and everything still works, including the factory keyless remote. Still on original clutch too I believe. If you buy a stock one and keep up with the maintenance it will last for years.
