Will you trade for a Toyota 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ?
How many of you 370z owners like the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ ?
Do you think you will trade in or sell your 370z once you've had a test-drive ? Where do your loyalties lie ? Is a certain brand/car in your heart ? I think one missing ingredient in the 86 is power will this matter with such light weight and low center of gravity ? am interested in hearing what you guys think about this car ^ |
I've been following it in the other cars forum but don't see myself selling the Z for that thing.
Its a dd at best for me. |
I think it is rather disappointing. I expected much better mpg for its engine. Ours gets the same mileage and is a much better preformer
|
No I would not sell my Z for the F86 I would rater have a preowned Cayman, 911 or a new Audi TT

If and when I sell mine, the next one will be a GT3 or another Corvette!

It is underpowered also -- at least for now. Having a backseat kills the deal anyway for me. |
I'll test drive it when it comes out, but probably won't buy one until they bring a high power version to the table

honest replies, thanks.
the other missing ingredient is good looks the 370z is gorgeous |
Initially, it will be a huge seller for Toyota. Expect wait lists at every dealer, as it will be the new cool car for teens and other entry level buyers, and there is a lot of pent-up demand for an affordable RWD car from Toyota/Honda.
However, at $28000, it is on the top edge of being called "affordable", and if Toyota follows its normal path, it will move the price upmarket each year until it is an expensive "premium" car, and sales go flat, at which point it will be killed. (see "MR2") Short answer: not a car I am interested in with only 200hp or so. By the time it has decent power, its a $35k+ car, and then my choices would be 370Z, Camaro SS, Mustang GT, or a whole lot full of slightly used Boxster, Corvette C6, etc. |
It looks like a fun car. however I have too much into the Z to stop and move to a different platform. I will stay with the z34 Nismo for a few more years.
I'm actually waiting for turbo 4 cylinder powered Porsche Boxster to come out. That will likely be my next new car. |
it's a decent little car but no z. the z was/is my dream car. will only ever change when I can afford an R8. :nutswinger:

Honestly, though, the front-end looks like a 370Z. That alone turns me off to the thing. |
I used to buy nothing but Toyotas. I had three Celicas and assorted other models.
The unfortunate thing about Toyota is that they dropped anything even resembling a sports car. This new one is no exception. You've got the Lexus LF-A on one end and these pocket-rockets on the other end and nothing in the middle like the Supra used to be. I loved all of my Toyotas, especially the dependability. I put 152,000 miles on one car, hit a telephone poll dead-center and the engine still ran like a top. My days of driving zippy 4 poppers is over. As much as I want to like this car, I can't see myself driving one. |
