It's not going to be "cheap," but I doubt Honda/Acura plans on building a halo sports car that's going to cost anywhere near the 918 or anywhere near the exotics.

It's not going to be "cheap," but I doubt Honda/Acura plans on building a halo sports car that's going to cost anywhere near the 918 or anywhere near the exotics. It's not that black & white. It's the same reasoning behind the ZR-1 or GT-R. Both cars having greater performance numbers without the fancy badge. The tech won't be cheap, but don't forget Honda has been in the hybrid game for some time now. They will find a way to make the NSX priced in a way that can justify its performance or they will just cancel the program. Don't forget, its focus is going to be more on agility, balance and low curb weight than all out power.

The rumor is about $100k similar to the original nsx pricing. That price would work for me.

I like it. Needs fender vents.

Hope they get rid of the Acura beak by then, but I like it, might replace the R8 as my next daily driver - unless a Cayman S appears in my future.
OTOH, I might be spoiled by the Touring features on my 370Z by then, and find they leave out too much (bet it won't have a heated steering wheel either!)

If it comes in at around 100K with sub-5.0sec 0-60mph (and that better mean something in the neighborhood of 4.5 or lower), with a level of quality expected of a car at that price range, then it's a straight-up R8 (4.2 not 5.2) competitor. Figure it'll be more economical to run per mile, and I can begin to see the appeal. However, I highly doubt that it will be offered with a 3-pedal manual transmission, meaning Luddites will be left with the ZR-1, Carrera S, and R8 as the only viable options. Here's hoping I'm wrong on the last bit.

They've already said 7 gear double clutch transmission with built-in electric motor.
I don't think they could support a manual transmission with all the electronic control over the three electric motors and V6.
