I think the HSV-010 GT is beautiful, but the Avengers Acura just doesn't do anything for me. An NA V10 would help it, but if they go with a smaller engine hybrid with in-wheel motors, that might work ok but it certainly isn't making me salivate.

I guess we'll see what they come up with after another 5 years or so...

:iagree: x100, I would also say the same thing about a new Toyota Supra.

The Honda NSX supercar is set to return as a 400bhp four-wheel-drive hybrid. Honda has already confirmed that a new NSX will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show in January, and now we have more information on the Japanese Audi R8 rival.

We’ve already seen spy shots of a concept car on the set of thenew Avengers movie, and we’ve since had confirmation that the Detroit show car will be heavily based on that model. Our images show a coupe, but the final production version will also be offered as a roadster.

The concept will be shown as an Acura – the firm’sluxuryNorth American arm – but it will be badged as a Honda when it arrives in the UK, and retain its forebear’s NSX name. Power will come from a 3.5-litre V6 driving one axle and a pair of in-wheel electric motors to turn the other. This will give the NSX four-wheel-drive traction and 400bhp-plus. Performance will be impressive, with 0-62mph taking under five seconds.

honda's finest to be a 3.5 V6? and 400bhp? what are they thinking.. latest GTR is good for 530hp out of the box and runs 3.8ltr twin turbo.

Honda needs to get its head out of its xxx and wake up to reality...

and the styling???? most are gonna call it an R8 copy..

It's Honda... what do you expect? They've always been underpowered and they have never really been unique in their styling. The original NSX was really the only car that ever stood out.

I'm not seeing R8.

C'mon, the S2000 was far from underpowered for what it was. It was just as fast as the mustang GT's of its time with their V8's and squishy suspensions. Beat the boxter, too, IIRC. Was nearly as fast as the Rev-up 350Z with a V6.

FWIW, S2000 is exempt from my Honda bashing. :D

I see an Acura TSX because of the grill. Or a Cadillac CTS-V.

Then I see a Z06 because of the Spyder rims. (the car actually has a LOT of Z06 in it I think. Front and rear fenders as well as the sides)

Oh wait...I'm just picking out ONE THING. Kindof like you all have done with the only thing similar--front fascia. Even that and the hood are way different. Sorry, I'm just not seeing R8.

Roof-line.
Front and rear fenders.
Sides.
Rear deck-lid orientation.
Rake.

I see a TON of differences.

So...what are you bashing? The NSX is STILL an awesome car, about like a C5 with better feel and much better interior/driver orientation.
The S2000 was great/is great.

What other sports car has Honda made recently? Are you trying to say a civic is under-powered? That their family-car/econo-car isn't fast? :ugh2:

I don't really get what you are missing. A guy was saying the car was underpowered relative to the GT-R and I asked if he really thought Honda would even get close to the GT-Rs power based on its history of under-powering most of its cars relative to everything else.
