I was given a Genesis to test drive for a full 24 hours and during that time i discovered several things: one is that the car rode like a rock..i just thought of steel tires on rough concrete..with a stiff suspension...In fact I hated it when it was anywhere but on a smooth open highway and even then it was not pleasant
Also the engine constantly reved at 4000 and more even when i was at 40 mph!!!..that seems like something was wrong with this demo. And when I applied the brakes the car pulled strongly to one side. Dealer said he should have corrected that... Now both of these problems may have been things that could have been solved by the dealer ...but it tells me and reminds me that there is more to evaluating a car than just sheer horsepower....and for my money the reputation, proven quality and reliability and the balanced approach to what they produce means I will put my money on Nissan..beautiful advertisements and horsepower ratings for Hyundai dont mean a damn to me...Overall quality is key... |
I drove close to a dozen Gen Coupes. Nearly every trim, every model... over the course of a few months.
I ended up spending more money on my Z and I'm OK with that. It's not all about price guys. |

Yes, I use my Z as DD and many times I missed rear seats. But love the design and performance! BTW: Gen Coupe comes with 19's as standard! Too big for me:driving: |

Someone told me a long time ago that they like the low rev because you get to max speed faster than high rev. |
Are you guys positive that this is a legit version of the facelifted gen coupe? About a year and a half ago my gf's brother(korean) Showed me "leaked" facelift photos of the genesis that looked identical to these that had surfaced on a bunch of korean autoblogs and the news. Fast forward.. They were hoaxed pictures by some kid online and hyundai denied all connection to them.

I never really considered the Genesis Coupe to be a serious 370Z competitor.
When I test drove one a few months ago when I was in the market; they felt like soul-less gutless automobile. It's not a bad looking car from the side and rear, but the front looks a bit too "cheeky" for my taste. This new redesign gives it a more aggressive mature look, but at the same time it comes off a bit fake. Kinda like a EVO X rip-off. Anyhow, like the Japanese in the 1980s/90s, the Koreans have come a long way in car design and manufacturing capabilities. Would I buy one? Probably not anytime soon. Could they get better in the future? From the looks of things, they seem to be going in the right direction. |
are u serious with that avatar and SIG?
