So should I get the 2013 GT500 or the IRS equipped GT?

I'd get a 13 if you like it. You can always trade.

No telling what the irs car will look like.

You owned both a 370z and Mustang

Is the difference between the IRS and SRA really that much of a difference?

No.

I've seen your pics on the dragon. Even there you don't miss IRS?

Whether I ran the panhard bar setup or the watts link I never had issues with rear end composure over bumps and rough surfaces. And trust me, we have a lot of that to contend with here.

The Z's rear suspension has its own issues with dynamic toe and other things as do many of other cars. IRS does not just magically make a car better... it has to be good.

And if it's good, you've got the benefits of independent rear wheel control (doh), camber adjustment, *typically* better rear tire wear, etc. Ideally a good IRS setup will allow you to maximize contact patch moreso than an SRA, but again, it all depends on setup.

The Mustang is good and does just fine with an SRA. If you don't like the panhard arc you can get a Watts Link (I love mine) but I am definitely not left wanting IRS. My car handles bumps like a champ and hooks up really well. I'm happy with it.

But I definitely welcome the move to IRS. As long as it's a good one it gives us more options.

Not at all. The car is properly set up. It's got grip and it's got balance. IRS wouldn't necessarily make it any better or any worse. I was not left wanting.

So which cars around the price of ours or a step up actually have a good IRS setup?

Most of them. The Z's is good. Not saying it's not.

But it doesn't make as much of a difference in handling compared to the SRA on the Mustang as many people are brainwashed to believe.

The primary benefit to me with an IRS is less unsprung weight and the ability to run some rear camber. I'd love to run -1 or -1.5 rear camber on the Mustang.

So the rear camber on the mustang is like 0?

Yep.

I'm just gonna wait for the car that isn't limited by physics

m4a1mustang 06-08-2012 09:20 AM

GTR isn't limited by physics.

Lemers 06-08-2012 09:25 AM

So a used GTR 2009 or 2010 or a 2013 Gt500?

m4a1mustang 06-08-2012 09:26 AM

Whatever you want, man!
