Matt, I'm sure you don't use all of your 400whp every day... so why do you even have it? Because you can. :usa:

I am saying the GT500 at the end of the day is nothing more than a Mustang with 'nicer or better performance parts.' It is not worth the extra money to buy a GT500 in my opinion because 'it is just a Mustang.'

That is a good point.

At the same time, on the broader spectrum, you can see why they'd put out this GT500. It's to compete with the ZL1 Camaro. And if you feel the same about the ZL1, that "big deal it's just a Camaro", then ok no prob.

Biases and opinions about a car are personal.

I dislike certain cars just because of their manufacturer, or their exterior design, or their association with some m4a1users. But that's just subjective opinion. :D

Lemers is right, there's no logical argument to be had there, but so much of the buying process is illogical.

Matt uses all 400 hp all day, every day. 7500rpms through schools zones in third.

The GT500 is not to the mustang GT as the NISMO is to the 370z. You can't take a GT and "built" it to a GT500 without going way over the cost of buying a new GT500.

Who ever said Nismo = GT500 for the Z?
If anything, I would rather buy a tourning/nav 370z and send it off to GTM before buying a Nismo if I wanted a GT500 competitor. What you get from Shelby though is basically that, but it is sold at a Ford dealership.

If you say track, then I will say buy a Boss 302 then if you want a track Mustang. It is a nice feature and good to see progress with the car, but honestly I would be taking a 5.0 or Boss 302 before I even look at a GT500.

The same place you will use 155 mph, but the GT500 will still be faster

Especially in my Altima.

Shelby has NOTHING to do with the development of the GT500.

This is a common misconception and is one of the reasons Ford should have just kept calling it the SVT Cobra. Ford only licenses the Shelby name. SVT develops the car. There is NO engineering involvement from Shelby.

Oh, may I remind you all, this thread WILL NOT be locked so if you take it off topic or start bashing each other Trip's is coming in to take care of you.

Not the idea of everyday usage no, but I am saying is when will you use it if ever? Track? Street racing? Texas mile events?
Do I use 400whp everyday? No, but I do come close, I honestly take my car to 6k everyday a few times, only thing I wish I could do more is take it to a track and truly utilize my car 100%.

Does a GT-R owner ever use his 193 mph top speed? Does a Z06 owner ever run to 198?

Will a ZL1 owner ever go to 184?

Probably not. But it doesn't matter if/when you will use that capability. What matters is it's there and it's a selling point of the car.

200+ mph is damn impressive on a GT500. If I buy one I doubt I will ever come close to going that fast, but knowing it can do that sure adds a lot of value in the mind of the driver.

Is Amar gonna sell his Nismo for a GT500?

It's just nice to know that in the event of the zombie apocalypse the GT500 can go 200 mph and seat 4.
