Default 2011 GT-R to get facelift

Best Car does it again and shows us what the 2010 (JDM) Nissan GT-R will look like without the zebra mask as it was seen while testing at the Nürburgring on April 23rd. The changes to the GT-R are most obvious from the front with a second “winglet” added to the front bumper.

GTRblog.com’s article on the masked test car at the Nürburgring picked up on most of the changes planned for the 2010 GT-R, the most obvious being the air vents behind the rear wheels on either side of the rear bumper and the revised rear diffuser. We are now told the the GT-R will feature an extra set of winglets on the front bumper and will be the most noticeable change made to the 2010 GT-R. The redesign is intended to have a slimming effect on the front bumper to make is look more sleek. What isn’t so noticeable is that the nose cone has been extended forward slightly to improve aerodynamics, although it’s unknown as to how much. As far as the appearance of the rest of the car goes, some minor changes will be applied but don’t expect anything too outstanding as we’re told the front bumper is to be the main feature of the face lift.

Performance will stay the same as the current model with no changes being made to the engine or driveline. Apparently the brakes of the standard GT-R (not Spec V) will get some attention though, either Brembo or Akebono will be called upon to make improvements to the braking hardware and will be signified by red colored calipers as opposed to the gold finish applied to the current model
