I hope to see a new Supra or something above the 86/BR-Z but below the LFA. |
Rumors or a Supra coming back are going on over 10 years. Sadly, if they did bring it back it would not be as potent as the MKIV Supra. Having owned a 97TT (which I turned into a big single) I would rather they left the Supra alone instead of bringing back a watered down version. Only way I would consider it is if they put in the 2JZGTE motor.

The rumor is that the supra will return in 2015 to compete with the gtr. I think a $100k supra is a bad idea, no one wanted to pay $50k when it was discontinued.

looks LFA-ish :stirthepot:
too bad it's a toyota.
I wish the supra came back
Doesn't the GTR cease production in 2016? So they would compete for like a year or so.
I remember when they said the supra was coming out in 2010....
They should just let the dead king of power and styling rest. I think it's the '93-'97 model? STILL the absolute best lines on a car to date. (except maybe the Ferrari 360)
It just doesn't get much better than this. Toyota hit a grand slam with this design.

I have always maintained the theory that the LFA is nothing more than Toyota playing catch up on tech and laying the groundwork for a new Supra. It would make sense considering how much of a loss they take on each one of those vehicles.
That said, rumors of a new Supra have been around for ages and I expect to see a new one around the same time I expect to see a brand new S16. |
