our cars have wider tires than the almighty lambo aventador???
who woulda ever thought most of our modded cars would have wider tires than the aventador?
stock front aventador tires are puny 225/35/19 on 9.0!!! rear tires on the other hand...   insideline article... Quote:

Maybe it has a huge rear-weight bias. I do find that very strange and wonder how it will affect lap times, or if they even care.

The Aventador has the second quickest time around Top Gear's track. I think it will be ok.
It probably doesn't need the big tire up front because its sure a light car. The front end on that thing wouldn't have much weight at all! |

well, forget this thread since it was a typo on insideline's part :shakes head:
fronts are 255/35/19! Technical Specifications < LP 700-4 < Aventador < Models < Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. |
hrmm. 335/30/20 Too bad its not 335/25/20 or i'd possibly use em.
|
997.2 GT3 RS and GT2 come with 245/35/19 and 325/30/19. I guess the new lambo has similar weight ratio for front and rear as the 911's.

z's weight distribution is like 55/45 , of course it needs bigger front tires....

Is it because its not for sale yet? BBC - Top Gear - Power Laps Also, for some weird reason the Bugatti Veyron SS is higher on the list the the Lambo even though the lambo did it quicker :icon14: |

Not shown in first place is the Prius. A commanding lead was established early due to superior 0-6 mph times.

I read the times on that track and....wtf? Supposedly an RX8 is faster than a 575 Maranello and a BMW 535D beats a Noble M12 GTO?
Yeah, that standard of measure just became worthless to me. |

Don't take it seriously. Just enjoy the show. Hell, Clarkson's going to contradict himself on a car every third episode, but he's funny. And these cars are taken out on different days by a racing driver. The conditions vary from wet/cold, hot/dry, etc, etc. Who knows what that driver's natural talents are and why some cars go faster in his hands? It's not set up for consistent results. |
