I look at those from time to time. It's a car I like a lot but don't think I could spend money on. Now if I was loaded I'd get a new M5.

Really cool, but kindof pointless in my opinion. I don't want to enjoy that kind of performance and haul kids. I want multiple vehicles at that price-point. |

I'd only buy an M5 if I had a bunch of other fun cars in my garage too.

I saw it at the Auto Show. Couldn't sit inside it, but I thought it was kind of meh. I'm sure the driving experience would affect my overall opinion of the car.

From what I hear, it's stirring the gears and loading the chassis that makes the BMW what it is. |

To me it's a car for when you just have to drive a 4-door with 560 of ze horsepowers to work.

BMWs are built well and drive real nice. But half of the driving experience is marketing hype and decades of being in the back pocket of Car & Driver writers.

Yeah pretty much. Without access to its interior or the driving experience, the rest of the car is meh. I think I may prefer the CTS-V over the M5, but I'd really have to drive both to get a final opinion. |

The new cars got the diff's hot FAST, and they were very quick. That is about all the instructors said about them. They really liked them other than the diff's, which may have been just part of break-in, but I have heard they run hot. I considered CTS-V Coupe...but the ***...and I live in the south, and I just couldn't deal with the steriotype that car has around here. |

Is there a problem? Honestly if the thread is civil it should be allowed to go where it may. Obviously it's centered around 5.0s so we can return to that when necessary, but there's no reason why it can't take a civil tangent or two.
