If I was going with that much power, I would want either the stock 3.31 or the 3.55 gear. Probably 3.55. Either way you'll want to run a lot of tire out back.

Adds more lateral Gs, duh! It also helps SUVs stop faster in snow.

BTW, I don't mean to be a **** about the Tiburon comment... but really. A guy is calling out the Mustang claiming poor handling because of extra weight and a solid axle and... Tiburon.
It feels like... high school.

The Tiburon handles like crap, but, i love the sharp steering feel. The FWD is a killer. The Tiburon is 5 years old, and its going to get replaced soon, with, guess what car..

As m4a1 said, you'll want "longer" gears so you can use put that extra power down, same reasoning why TT Z often switch out to A/T final drive ratios so that they can stay in gear longer. |

There is a huge misconception out there about body roll, for one. A car can be too stiff just as it can be too soft, so body roll is not necessarily a bad thing. With the Z and the Brembo package 5.0s, the body roll is roughly the same. The only difference is there is slightly more felt body roll with the Mustang because of the extra weight and faster roll rate. That said, both cars corner very flat. I do have a set of Konis waiting to go on the car, though, which will really turn it into even more of a corner carver. My goal is a suspension setup that is superior to the Boss. I've been doing this long enough to have an idea of what handles and what doesn't, and both the 5.0 and the Z certainly do. And they both do it quite well. Stock-for-stock I feel like the 5.0 actually has the superior balance, as the Z has gobs of built in understeer with it's staggered setup and soft rear anti-roll bar. The 5.0 is slightly under-damped in the rear but overall has the better balance. This is subjective, though. Some people feel more comfortable with understeer, and that's perfectly fine. Anyways, it's late, so I will leave you with this for your viewing and aural pleasure. A 5.0 and 370Z on a romp through the mountains of Tennessee.

I do love the Boss, though. If I just wanted a weekend fun car / track day car I'd be all over the Boss in a heart beat over the standard 5.0 and the current GT500. I can't live without the Premium package (and Sync) on a DD, though.

The Boss is one helluva car, I'd rock one in a heartbeat except for the fact that my $$ is tied up in my Z, (and my wife is a diehard Z nut as well and strongly dislikes domestics). Even she thinks the Boss is cool tho. Plus, I am trying to cure my car add so my plan is to keep my Z at least 5-6years or more. This addiction of mine (new car every 12-24 months for the last xx years) has cost me too much $$ that could have gone towards, well I dunno actually, I live a pretty simple lifestyle and have pretty much everything I need/want so I suppose it'd just be sitting in the bank, but still, must cure this affliction. |

I also need to cure my car ADD. Every now and then I look up M3s and the new 911s and just shake my head at my disease.
