You corssed shopped a GTR with a Z? 80-90k VS 30-40K. Dont people who consider GTR's also consider Vipers, Lambos, ETC not entry level sports cars???

Even though duel clutches are automatics. They'd be the only autos that I'd consider.

Drove a viper as well, lambo's were not in my price range, at least not in condition I'd want them in |

Your a pretty modest guy. You can afford GTR's Vipers used Lambos but ended up with a Z a Rex and now a Stang.

Value shoppers will look at just about everything. I looked at the Cayman S and bought the 370Z instead. Something like a 25k price difference there. I have looked at the 2012 Porsche 911 which is 3-4x the price of my 5.0. I can't speak for Dan, but I would guess that he's like me in that he wants a good value when he buys a car so he doesn't have to take money away from other hobbies. I know I could go out and buy a new 911, but then I'd have to cut spending elsewhere and that's not really something I want to do. FWIW, I have a client with a net worth of $20 million. Last year he called me up to do a wire. For a car. "Ok," I thought, "Lambo? Aston? Porsche?" Nope. $20k wire to cover the purchase of a Civic.

I can see the Cayman S vs Z shopping. The Z does everything the Porsche does for like you said alot less. But a GTR VS a Z, no comparison same with the Viper VS Z rex Stang

There is at least one guy on this forum that traded his GTR for a 370.

I think we are pretty similar in that respect...I'm not looking to waste huge amounts of money on a car, but I'll do it if it makes sense. Right now I have other priorities, like traveling and building my collection of polite tea party guests |

Just because you can afford a $100,000 car doesn't mean that's all you're going to look at. Enthusiasts don't discriminate based on price... they are looking for fun. If I've got $100k to blow on a car and stumble across one for $25k that is fun as heck to drive, I'm probably going to buy it.

I seek to maximize the fun/$ ratio. Example: Why pay $500/hr for a high dollar hooker when I could get shado all night for just one pumpkin spice latte?
