Good to hear, it seems like a really cool feature.
<- Is a FORD shareholder and doesn't mind if people turn in their Z's for 5.0's I wish I had Sync although, "happy ending" probably won't be recognzied so it will be useless for me |

Yeah, the fact that it is 99% software is very good for ford. I don't think anyone else has anything close, and in lower-level cars, it presents a huge advantage. To me, it is relatively unimportant, but it would cost ford only the illusion of premium-ness, and about a dollar a unit to put it in EVERY car they sell...huge differentiator between honda/toyota/etc.

Glad to hear Dan... I'm wondering how Sync will play with my phone, etc... FYI, my quest to determine whether or not to go with the GT/CS Fascia + Boss splitter versus the MGW shifter is slowly shifting (pun intended) towards the shifter I called MGW to get a feel for the company, the people, the product, etc... Wow, I'm glad I called. I talked to the owner and designer of the shifter. What a standup guy. Very knowledgeable. Wasn't really coming from a sales standpoint. I just wanted to hear what he had to say about his product and the stock 5.0 shifter. Summary = the stock shifter was made cheaply and is rather flimsy, but most folks would probably be happy with it. For those us enthusiasts who really care about the "relationship" that we have with our cars, i.e. using the shifter as our communication medium , will want an improved shifter. The MGW is built better, is supported better, is more precise, crisp, and an overall better feel, virtually eliminating any possibility of missed gears. Also, the reverse shifting lockout is made tons better. From all I read about MGW in the past, I haven't seen anything negative said about them... nada, zilch. They've been doing it since 1984, and have had tons of loyal customers. They don't start shipping the shifter till 2 weeks from now, but 80 of the first 100 batch are already accounted for. So I put my name in for one, but can cancel if I change my mind. Anyways... I think I'll probably lean this way instead of the fascia for now... and maybe get the fascia next year. Coming from the Z, the tranny/shifter is a really sensitive subject for me. I didn't really care for the Z's overall transmission and shifting. Driving the stock 5.0, I was already impressed though.... so part of me is thinking why bother. But eh, what the hey... imagine how much BETTER this will be. What you think, Dan, Steve, GZ3? p.s. at one point of our convo, he goes "You ordered a new one right?" "Make sure you get the 3.73 gears. It makes the 5.0 a TOTALLY different animal." I said "oh yes.... ohhh YES I DID."

That sounds like a plan. MGW makes good stuff so I'm sure you will be happy with it. If I decide to change the shifter that's the route I am going to go.

The only issue I had was with text messages when I first got it. My Droid (original) wouldn't share texts with Sync, but when I upgraded to the Droid 2 that fixed it.

So you can tell the difference between information and misinformation.
