When I test drove one, the three things that got me:
-- The interior. It's built just fine, but the design of it doesn't really hold me. It has that retro look going, and I really wasn't a fan of the speedo/tach. I also wasn't a fan of how it "felt" -- basically, the Z sits you in a cockpit, where the Mustang just tries to sit you in a comfortable car. -- It just wasn't made for someone of my size. I'm 5'6 and 120, and I was basically swimming in the seats. Likewise, everything just felt big and, well, American. I like smaller cars, I guess. It's why I'm attracted to the STi/Evo and not muscle cars or cars like the M5. -- The exterior. I just don't love it. It isn't ugly, but it isn't really any different to me than the other Mustangs of this generation. I don't care about exclusivity, but I've gotta love a car when I walk up to it, and I wasn't feeling that at the dealer. Likewise, as cool as the power was, I didn't feel like it was worth trading a car over. I felt like I was going to an equal vehicle, not a better one -- regardless of what I knew the numbers actually were. |

My biggest knock on the Mustang is that due to the V6, there are way too many out there. I can go weeks without seeing another 370Z but the mustang (even the latest body style) sometimes I can't go a block without seeing one. So if I were to go down that road it would need to be a special edition like the boss or Shelby.

Steve... thanks for this. So are these parts the BOSS splitter and GT/CS front fascia respectively? And they're OEM parts right? Also another question for you guys. Have you heard of these MGW shifters? Anyone have any experience in their 2011+? Read a lot of good things. Wondering if it's worth the 375 bucks. MGW makes great stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to go with their shifter. If I get one that will be it.

the mustang driving position/etc is definitely very different than the Z. Some days I like the room, other days I miss the tight feel of cars like the S (I always felt like the Z was pretty roomy too)
