Glad you liked the car, man! If you were impressed by the non-Brembo car I think you'll love it once yours comes in. The Brembo cars are fantastic.

I reverted my Z back to stock last night... got a little sad last night. But this morning, I drove her to the Ford dealership, traded her in.... they had a 2012 used GT premium there with no brembo. I test drove it with a buddy, and after 20 minutes behind the wheel and non-stop grinning ear to ear, I came out of that car saying, "Where do I sign?". After that test drive, I waved bye to my Z and never looked back.

Ford really impressed me... I thought they came a long way, but I must admit I went in with the expectation (test drive) that it would be less than the Z overall... I was wrong. I now know what the slogan means (and when you guys say) "Drive One.".

IMO, the fit and finish is on par with the Z. The ride (even without the BBP) rode as well as my Z I thought... it was tight and controlled. The steering was maybe a little less communicative than the Z, but not by much. I can't imagine how much better the BBP equipped 5.0's would be. I can now see what you mean, Dan.... these 5.0's can keep up if not surpass the Z's no problem.

But then we come to power and torque and transmission. By far, the 5.0 blows the Z out of the park. I sat there and rev'd that thing for a couple of minutes. The sound alone is enough to make me sign the papers. In stock form, mind you. When have you seen the car "move" when sitting in park and revving? I could just feel the power and torque in there. The transmission was light years better than the Z. I thought the Z was good, but I was fooling myself into loving that transmission. The Z tranny was loose, rattly, and unrefined. The 5.0 tranny was tight, smooth, and QUIET. How a tranny should be. The clutch feel on the 5.0 was also superb. Hands-down. Period. Those of you that don't believe me, indeed drive one. I'm a believer.

So anyways, I ordered a 2012 Kona Blue GT Prem with BBP and 3.73. Comes in December. I can't wait.

I hope to stay on this forum a while since I met some great friends. Dan and Steve, thanks again for your input. Now I can fit my wife and kid in the car at the same time.
Red, m4a1 would you please You're like a virus destroying my beautiful Z community. Before I know it you will have me knockin a few teeth out and throwin a pair of overalls on to mosey down to the ol ford dealership to by me one of those new fangled fancy mustangs. Haha not their fault alchemy. I was looking to replace the z because my kid is growing up and wants to be with me all the time. Now i can him and wife in it. The fact that the 5.0 was (imo) better than the z was truly a bonus. I think z owners shouldn't test drive one. They trade theirs all in. Lol

I've been loving this Dodge Dakota v8 I've been driving around as a rental while my Z is being fixed. The big american v8 engine has nice torque, for a big truck it moves, and sounds really cool I think. I never really had an open mind to want an american muscle car before, but I think I may reconsider this eventually, and would love to checkout a new mustang.

I have been thinking about it. But thats all I would do is test drive it. I could never sell my Z for it even if it is better, Im too much of a Z fanboy. Dont get me wrong, much like you guys I am an automotive enthusiast. Even beyond just cars, I love anything w a motor. It just so happens that the Z is my fav car, Ive been around Z's my whole life. Its in my blood. It also just so happens that I loathe Mustangs. I used to have a good reason too, they are poorly made pieces of not that fast crud that cant take a turn. Then this stupid 5.0 returns and actually does good #'s I do have A LITTLE newfound respect for the Stang, I really do. But as Ive said before the Z just has a special aura about it. IMO. I slide into the cockpit and feel like a million bucks, I know sliding into a Stang cockpit could never invoke the same feeling. To each his own though right? I must say chatting w you guys has helped calm my "Mustang Rage". Hope we all get to rip some turns at ZDAYZ

Ps. At least I can still find solice in the fact that we are comparing a v8 to a v6.

Hey man, nothing wrong with that. There's a magical combination of things that have to come together to make a car right for you...
