I find your comment about me not driving sports cars funny.

Please do share your nj roads list. I will make sure to hit them up, maybe it will change my mind.

i thought mustangs were more like 3500 or 3600 pounds.

Crazy, right? Maybe you can troll the corvette thread about how much better they could be with an overhead cam.

So? It's not like there's any debate around it. A ferrari with a 4.5 litre puts out more power than a corvette 7 litres.

Fantastic straight-across comparison. Did you know a cayman s is also faster than a z around most tracks? And a Bugatti veyron has a higher top speed?

You're just on a roll! Once you finish reading the wiki article on toe, we can start discussing camber. Next week we can cover those topics under what are known as "dynamic" conditions.

I don't currently own a Mustang but right now I spend more time in my buddy's 5.0 than I do in the Z(down for the winter). He gave me a chance to take it for a spin and will say this:

While it isn't the biggest car in the world, it does feel big coming from a Z. I'm sure the hood scoop made it worse, but I could never really tell where the front end was and I was afraid of misjudging turns in a tight parking lot. My winter beater is a Del Sol, which makes even the Z feel big. lol

As for the back seats, I would say that it's a 3 person car. It's plenty easy to fit two people on the passenger side while leaving both passengers relatively comfortable since the person riding shotgun doesn't need to be seated in any particular position. I would not want to try and sit behind the driver, he is 6'-3" though.

When it comes to customer service, he had to take his car into the shop for some warranty work on his transmission and basically got the run around on that. He had a bad grind in 5th, they ordered the syncro, then decided not to put it in and just replaced his redline fluid with dual clutch fluid (which didn't fix the issue). But I think service is really going to come down to where you take it. It's never universal across shops, dealer or not.

And as far as additional costs, maintenance/oil changes seem pretty standard and there seems to be a pretty large aftermarket with most prices lower than comparable parts for the Z.

Oh yeah, and it's wicked fast.

Yeah what draws me to is the power, for the price it's just unreal amounts of power. Like I mentioned earlier I am not too worried with backseat room, more curious. Im 6'4"...good luck fitting anybody in the seat behing me :p

Dimer, def agree with the "three person car" thought. Sums it up perfectly.

Same with the hood visibility. I still get nervous sometimes with the huge hood.

Professor, I am going to audit this class.

Seriously I wish my university had a class that would meld the materials science and physics together to make a class like that.

My school has a class on vehicle dynamics and another on design. They also have a racing team where they design, build, and then race their own cars. I just wish I had time to do some of that stuff, stupid work always getting in the way of fun stuff :shakes head:
