Whats wrong with the Z's Tranny?? Had mine for a year and a half and put 15k on her with not one problem at all?????? As for the Oil Cooler it was never installed from Nissan so it cant be installed wrong. I think that these so called tranny problems that a small amount of people are having stem from inexperienced drivers. Did I read on this thread that the new 5.0 had a tranny problem as well?? Or was it something else.

False.

The 370 has had some well known synchro issues, mostly 5th or 6th gears, and mostly in the 2009s. A lot of transmissions were replaced back in 2009.

There have been far fewer issues with the 2010+, though. But a few 2009ers here have had multiple transmissions replaced.

The s is an amazing car. If you get it, you have to understand you aren't getting power though. Your rsx probably puts the same to the wheels, and if you have an s, the k is a much better motor than the f. There is no torque down low, and it can get aggravating to dd.

On the other hand, it's a blast to drive, and a bone stock s2k is the only car I've sold that I would buy again.

Thanks. I have been a little sketchy, being an import fan, going to mustang forums, but luckily the370z has plenty support for subie and stangs. The s2000 guys are pretty helpful. and obviously the370z is the best car forum i've come across, the close second being the pontiac fiero guys. (kinda still miss that car).

I do a lot of TSB and claims sorting, as well as incentives, and deals that come along. luckily my girlfriend of two years' father works for ford so new may very well be a more attractive than usual option with the 5.0

the stang hurts my head. the 5.0 is something-even with the auto-that i thought i would never find in a mustang! its really quite nice, didn't get a chance to really play around with sync. it seams that it may beat out the Z in reliability. if not solely for the fact ford seems actually interested in working out the kinks.

But I always go back to that s2000. not the hottest girl at the club, but you can be damn sure she is the freakiest. honestly this little 4 cyl girl has an x factor.

looks definately go to the Z, and my girlfriend will definitely approve of the Z. she thinks the s2k is ugly( i didn't push the issue like i wanted) and she doesn't understand the dif between the 5.0 and a dishwasher.

Winter driving in wisconsin is kinda an issue.

*sigh*

This is what happens when a person stays within the confines of a box. Person sees the inner walls of the box and has no idea how the world is like outside of the box. Person thinks the inside of the box is how things should be, and ONLY be. No possible way anything outside of the box could be any better (not even better, just "different") than inside the box.

Let me restate my experience for you. Technically I had NO issues with my Z transmission. I loved my car SO much that I thought the grittiness, rattliness, and tinniness of our trannies (and this is common to almost ALL Z's... there's even threads of how people responded to several posts saying NORMAL, SOUNDS LIKE LOOSE MARBLES, NORMAL, etc etc etc) were all a part of everyday life with the Z. So I lived with it.

What rubbed me the wrong way was, my other cars were not like that. Not my G, not my Acura, etc etc. I just stuck with the thought that hey, my Z is just being normal... it's a "Z-thing" or whatever.

Fast forward, Test drove the 5.0. Eyes opened. Jaw dropped. Tranny not at ALL like Z (amongst many other things). So, if it turns out you like your Z and transmission, good for you! I just know I wanted the 5.0 and along with it, the benefits of much better transmission.

7at is by far a better quality transmission.

If I was a woman, I might have gotten one....

....just kidding...that's unfair to women. :icon17:

ppl act like the Stang's sh*t don't stink. All cars have problems, issues. I'm glad you're happy with your Stangs, but I tire of the Z nitpicking that goes on with the condescending 5.0wners on this site. I'm happy with my Z. I knew what I was getting going in, and it's a fantastic car. I didn't have to trade up when something faster came along.

No one forces you to read the thread.

But more to the point, we are only responding (accurately) to sh!t stirring posts left by the trolls. You could have a talk with them about fixing that issue.

No one is talking smack about the z. It has issues like every car (mustang included). We just aren't looking through a rose colored glass.

Sound logic. I donotice more 7at owners tend to keep the car.
